🚗💛 CAR SEAT SAFETY WEEK 💛🚗

Little ones grow so quickly—and as they grow, their car seat needs change too. Car Seat Safety Week is a great time to take a moment to check that your child is riding in the right seat for their age, height, and weight. 🧸

Michigan’s updated child passenger safety laws, effective April 2, 2025, provide these guidelines:

👶🏽 Birth–2 years: Rear-facing car seat until your child reaches the seat’s maximum height or weight limit, or turns 2.

🧒🏽 2–5 years: Forward-facing car seat with a harness until your child reaches the seat’s maximum height or weight limit, or turns 5.

👧🏽 5–8 years: Belt-positioning booster seat with a lap-and-shoulder belt until your child reaches 4'9" or turns 8.

🚙 Under 13: Children should ride in the rear seat when one is available. Michigan law also has specific requirements for children under 13, including rear-seat positioning and restraint use.

And remember: the manufacturer's height and weight limits matter! Children can benefit from remaining in each type of restraint as long as they are within the manufacturer's limits.

This week, take a few minutes to:
✅ Check your child's car seat limits
✅ Make sure the harness and straps are adjusted properly
✅ Check that the seat is installed according to the manufacturer's instructions
✅ Make sure your child's seat hasn't expired or been recalled

A properly used car seat is one more way we can help protect the little ones we love. 💛

🌟 MEET THE TEAM: MRS. QUISE 🌟

Next in our Meet the Team series, we’re excited to introduce Mrs. Quise, a dedicated early childhood educator with 14 years of experience working with young learners! 💛

Mrs. Quise is passionate about creating an encouraging classroom where children feel safe, confident, loved, and free to explore. She believes some of the most meaningful learning happens through hands-on experiences, creative expression, and the freedom to discover something new.

You’ll often find her in the classroom art area, helping little learners turn their imaginations into creative masterpieces! 🎨✨ And if you hear some soft R&B instrumentals during quiet choices or transition times, you’ll know Mrs. Quise is bringing a little bit of what she loves into the classroom. 🎶

Her goal is simple but meaningful: to create a classroom that feels like a safe and joyful second home for every child.

We’re grateful to have Mrs. Quise as part of the CircleTime family and can’t wait to see our little learners bloom in her classroom! 🌸💛

Next in our Meet the Team series, we’re excited to introduce Ms. Ware, Assistant Director at CircleTime with Friends! 💛

Ms. Ware’s journey in childcare is rooted in a lifelong desire to become a teacher, inspired by her late aunt, who was a reading teacher at Barber Prep in Detroit. Her aunt’s dedication to helping children learn left a lasting impression and helped shape the path she would eventually take.

After graduating from Pershing High School, Ms. Ware entered the workforce, married, and became a mother before returning to school to pursue her education in General Studies. Along the way, she built an impressive and diverse career, working as a licensed childcare provider, security supervisor, licensed notary, and ordained minister.

Her heart, however, continued to lead her toward education. After discovering MiRegistry, Ms. Ware began taking early childhood courses, earned her Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, and completed her CDA observation with Lance Reed.

Her dedication and experience eventually led her to serve as Program Director at Quality Childcare 2, and she is now continuing to grow professionally and personally as part of the CircleTime with Friends family.

We’re especially excited to celebrate that Ms. Ware is completing her Early Childhood Education degree from Bay Mills Community College this December! 🎓❤️

Ms. Ware brings experience, determination, faith, and a genuine love for children to everything she does. We’re grateful to have her helping lead, nurture, and support our children, families, and staff.

Please join us in celebrating Ms. Ware and her incredible journey! 💕 We’re so happy to have you as part of the CircleTime with Friends family!
