A Heartfelt Thank You Following Our Farewell Celebration

On May 31, our St. Valentine Parish and School community gathered for a truly beautiful day of gratitude, memories, and celebration as we marked the closing of St. Valentine School after 74 years of Catholic education and ministry.

We were blessed to welcome 812 people to our Farewell Mass, with many more visitors spending time throughout the school building, reconnecting with classmates, teachers, parishioners, and friends. The overwhelming turnout was a testament to the profound impact St. Valentine School has had on generations of families and to the deep love that so many continue to hold for this special place.

Throughout the day, countless people shared stories, laughter, tears, and cherished memories. While there was certainly sadness in saying goodbye to the school, there was also tremendous joy and gratitude as we celebrated all that God has accomplished through St. Valentine School over the past seven decades.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Men's Club, Women's Club, and the dedicated Farewell Event Committee for the many hours of planning, preparation, and service that made this day possible. Their hard work created an event worthy of the school's remarkable legacy.

We are also deeply grateful to Fr. Manuel, whose leadership and support helped guide our community through this historic moment, and to the current school staff and rectory staff who worked to support this event. A special thank you goes to Father Charles Fox, who graciously officiated the Farewell Mass, and to Father Socorro, for joining us as a concelebrant. Their presence helped make the liturgy a meaningful and prayerful celebration of St. Valentine's rich history and enduring legacy.

Most importantly, thank you to our parishioners, alumni, current and former families, teachers, volunteers, and friends who have supported St. Valentine School throughout its history. The school may be closing its doors, but the faith, friendships, values, and memories formed here will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were part of this community.

Thank you for helping make our farewell celebration a day filled with faith, gratitude, and hope. May God continue to bless all who have been part of the St. Valentine School family.
