We are happy to announce the arrival of our newest ambassador animal… Blossom!

Blossom is a striped skunk kit who was rescued locally in Redding at only about 2 weeks old. While spending time at a Wildlife Rehabilitation Center it became clear that little Blossom was becoming too friendly with her human caretaker even though all the proper procedures were followed. Therefore she wouldn’t be able to go back into the wild.

At 12 weeks old now, Blossom is being raised by our Animal Care staff and will eventually become Spike’s (our North American porcupine) new roommate and the next great ambassador for her species. You can see Blossom at the end of the Walk on the Wild Side animal shows or ask a trainer, as they are happy to let you meet her.
