“You Are Here!” is Fri Dec 15th . Come join our elementary children! We have loved pulling this production together - songs, a musical story, ORFF, dance, Upper Elemetary band, songwriting and a story about an ET and a group of kids from “1410” which reinforces each child’s value - they explore where they are right now and how their roots fit into the galaxy’s dance!

It was a joy to see 4 of our Upper Elementary children show “petting zoo”instruments to audience members at the Peter and the Wolf concert for kids this morning . They were enthusiastic, engaging, fun and so patient! thank you for having them! They L.O.V.E.D. It!

Creativity is a gift. Children are naturally creative! To curiously explore and challenge themselves to create is exciting! 2 hours at The Makery Redding and these elementary creations are nearly finished!

For me there is nothing better then sharing the gift of creativity. This is what it’s all about. This is what The Makery is all about.
Thank you for sharing your lower and upper elementary students and giving me the opportunity to not only inspire but to be inspired once again.
✨With the lower elementary we focused on the “basics” of weaving, playing with lots of color and having fun!
✨With the upper elementary I challenged them to make a weaving using a monochromatic scheme (one color with various shades) We learned how to use one color and make it interesting by learning new weaving techniques, patterns and textures.

Our elementary children loved preparing the soil, seeds and starts and planting the winter garden. Thank you to our volunteers who took the children through the process and Wyntour Gardens for donating the starts!

It seems fitting this week to share Miss Rose’s blog about how our elementary children resolve conflict. We don’t ignore conflict or tell children to be quiet. We bring their need for resolution to the table and we allow children to see the process through. It’s beautiful to see the children welcome this process to both listen and be heard. Our Elementary Summer Program visited and learned about bee hives, the orchard, cows, sheep, chickens and regenerative farming! Such a fun day.

“Isn’t it better together singing as one big family.” Shady Oaks 3-6 year old Primary children have loved cultural songs from this past year.
