Celebrating Simpson alumni serving in Alliance ministry!

It was great to gather some of our Simpson University alumni at the Central Pacific District Conference (of the C&MA) today. We’re grateful to see alumni serving churches and communities throughout the district and continuing Simpson’s long legacy of preparing people for lives of meaningful service.

Come back and bring the next generation with you.

Homecoming isn’t only about looking back. It’s also about seeing where Simpson is headed and considering how alumni can continue to be part of the story.

Bring your kids and let them experience the campus that helped shape you. Meet today’s students. Cheer on the Red Hawks. And while you’re here, imagine the ways your own experience could benefit someone coming behind you, through mentoring, career connections, internships, encouragement or simply staying engaged.

That’s part of what the Simpson alumni family can be: generations connected by a shared experience and investing in what comes next.

We hope your family will join ours October 15–18.

Just in time for Homecoming!

Our brand-new Simpson University mugs just arrived, featuring a fun custom design celebrating Simpson, Redding, and some of the places and experiences that make our community special.

Available now at the Bean Scene for $15 and ready for alumni coming back to campus for Homecoming!

And a fun detail: the artwork was created right here by members of our Simpson faculty and student community.

Come back and experience Simpson today.

Homecoming is a chance to reconnect with the Simpson you remember, and discover what is happening here now.

Walk the campus again. Meet today’s students. Sit in on a Friday class. Celebrate the ribbon cutting for our newest academic facility. Take in a game, share a meal, and spend time with alumni and friends from across the generations.

A lot has changed since your days as a student. But the relationships, mission and sense of community that make Simpson special are still very much alive.

Come see what’s new and be part of it again.

Come back. Reconnect. Remember.

Some of the best parts of Homecoming aren’t on the schedule. They’re the conversations that pick up after years apart, the familiar faces you didn’t know you missed, and the chance to remember the people and experiences that helped shape your Simpson story.

Homecoming & Family Weekend is October 15–18, and this year we’re especially looking forward to welcoming back our reunion classes from 1976, 1986, 1996, 2001, 2006 and 2016.

Whether it has been a few years or a few decades, we’d love to see you back at Simpson.

Come home and reconnect.

A little alumni presence in chapel this morning.

We were grateful to have Simpson alumnus and local C&MA youth pastor Noah Baxter (‘19) sharing with our students today, along with fellow alumnus Jason Fogde (‘03) helping lead worship (on the keys).

It’s always encouraging to see our graduates back on campus, investing in the next generation of Simpson students.

Alumni, you’re always welcome back for chapel.

One of the rhythms that continues to shape life at Simpson is our twice-weekly chapel gathering. This fall, students are gathering on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:20–11:20 a.m., with pastors, faculty, ministry leaders, alumni, and others helping lead us through our fall theme, “Encounters with Jesus: The Gospel of John, Chapters 1–12.”

If you’re ever in Redding or simply passing through, stop by and join us for chapel. And while you’re on campus, feel free to stop by the Alumni Office too, we’d love to say hello, catch up for a few minutes, and we always have a small alumni gift ready for visitors.

If you’re not able to be here in person, or you’d simply like to hear what chapel is like at Simpson today, you can listen to previous chapel messages here:

Take a look at the fall schedule below, and come join us sometime!

Our Largest Enrollment Ever.
Still Unapologetically Christian.

There’s a lot worth celebrating at Simpson right now.

This fall, Simpson welcomed the largest traditional undergraduate enrollment in our 106-year history.

But as an alumnus myself, there’s another part of this story I especially want alumni to hear:

As Simpson grows, our mission has not changed.

We remain a Christ-centered university, rooted in our Christian & Missionary Alliance heritage and committed to being a “Gateway to World Service”. Our students encounter faculty who intentionally integrate faith and learning, a community shaped by Christian convictions, and an invitation to know Christ more deeply and live lives of meaningful work and service.

President Norm Hall put it well in announcing this milestone: Simpson remains “distinctly Christian in our mission.”

More students walking through our doors means more students we have the opportunity to teach, mentor, disciple, and prepare to serve Christ and their communities.

That’s something worth celebrating.

Growing and still a Gateway to World Service.

Congratulations to Simpson alumna Dr. Christina (Partridge) Schnyders ('00) on her appointment as the ninth President of Warner Pacific University.

Since graduating from Simpson in 2000, Christina has served faithfully in Christian higher education as a professor, counselor, scholar, academic leader, and most recently as Provost at Malone University. We are grateful to see another Simpson graduate leading with excellence and influencing the next generation of students.

Please join us in congratulating Christina and praying for her family as they begin this exciting new chapter.
