Providing a creative and personalized approach to learning based around the CA State Content Standards and tailored specifically to your child’s academic needs. I serve students who are in need of intervention, curriculum support (tutoring), homework assistance, test preparation, and compensatory strategies. I use a variety of programs and techniques to determine the best learning environment for
each student and to enhance his/her love of learning. ABOUT ME:
I was born and raised in Long Beach, CA where I graduated from the PACE program at Long Beach Polytechnic High School. I then went on to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication with a minor in Education from University of California, Davis. I received my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from California State University, Los Angeles. With a mother who has a lifetime credential and has been an educator for 40+ years, and I with my long resume of work experience teaching children of all ages in both academics and sports, pursuing a career in teaching and opening my own tutoring business came naturally. After receiving my teaching credential, I began working at Lindamood-Bell® as a Clinician and quickly excelled in the programs. I spent the next 3 years as a Consultant, helping students overcome their weaknesses and achieve personal and academic success. I combine my education and work experience with a variety of approaches such as the Lindamood-Bell Seeing Stars®, Visualizing & Verbalizing®, Talkies®, and On Cloud Nine® programs; Project Based Learning (PBL); Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Lessons (POGIL); Common Core; and various technology-based education programs.
