Georgetown School of the Arts

Georgetown School of the Arts Georgetown School of the Arts (GSA) is an artist-driven educational space open to all. One-on-one attention is also available through private instruction.

We offer a wide range of classes to whet the appetite of all those with a desire to begin or continue their art education. Fine arts include drawing, painting, watercolor, printmaking and sculpture. Crafts include weaving and woodworking. GSA is also home to Masters and Mixers, a social painting and wine experience. Learn to paint, return to painting and paint with friends while creating a personal work of art inspired by a featured painting.

🧶 Little looms, BIG creativity! 🎨
Learning to weave is all about color, texture, pattern…and a little patience!

From introducing young artists to weaving at Paint, Draw & More! to exploring fiber arts at Georgetown School of the Arts, we love watching creativity come together one strand at a time. ❤️

Different ages. Different projects. One creative thread. 🧶✨

🧶 A little Tuesday evening read…

Why weaving?

It’s creative. It’s hands-on. And there’s something pretty satisfying about watching individual threads slowly become something entirely new.

Weaving encourages patience, focus, creativity, and the chance to work with color and texture in a completely different way.

✨ An oldie from the Georgetown School of the Arts archives, but the reasons we love weaving haven’t changed.

Curious why we weave? Take a look at this throwback from our blog:

🎨 Happy Birthday, Andy Warhol!

Today we celebrate one of the most recognizable artists of the 20th century and a creative mind who challenged the idea of what art could be.

From soup cans and celebrities to bold colors and repeated images, Andy Warhol found inspiration in the everyday and transformed it into something unforgettable.

A great reminder for artists of every age: inspiration really can be found anywhere. 👀🎨✨

🌊 First watercolor… and what a splash!

Clayton explored watercolor for the very first time during his private lesson at Georgetown School of the Arts, creating this beautiful ocean wave painting. We love seeing students discover new techniques, build confidence, and surprise themselves with what they can create. 🎨💙
