Redding City Ballet is a non-profit ballet company and training school.

Redding City Ballet, a California Nonprofit 501(c)(3) Corporation

The mission of Redding City Ballet is to present classical, contemporary and innovative concert dance to a broad audience and to increase accessibility to the arts for the schools of the North State area through educational outreach programs, lectures and performances. Redding City Ballet (RCB) was found in 1993 and began touring local schools offering
lecture demonstrations and educational opportunities/training in classical dance and
performance. In 1997 it presented its first full length Nutcracker production with a sixty-five member cast that included community members and children along aside local professionals. In 2002 the company was granted 501(c)3 status and firmly established itself as the first resident ballet company of Shasta County and the City of Redding. To date,
RCB continues to present the Nutcracker annually in Redding as well as touring to the
neighboring community of Weaverville. Casting for the Nutcracker for these past twenty-two years has continued to draw dancers from across the county resulting in continuing casts of over 40+ established artists and dancer trainees.

🎃 Save the Date for Dress-Up Week at RCB! 🩰✨

October 26–30, dancers are invited to wear their favorite costumes to class! Dressing up is completely optional.

A few friendly reminders:

✨ Costumes must allow for full movement during class.
✨ Please avoid scary or overly distracting costumes.
✨ Dancers should wear their regular leotard and tights underneath in case costumes need to be removed for dancing.

We can’t wait to see everyone’s creativity and enjoy a fun, festive week at the studio! 💕

📞Calling All Local Businesses 📞

As Redding City Ballet is preparing for our annual Nutcracker Raffle Baskets, we’d love and appreciate your support!

Each year, we raffle off beautifully curated baskets (swipe to see a few from prior years) during our Nutcracker performances to help raise funds for our non-profit ballet company. This year funds raised will specifically go towards our Chance-2-Dance program. This program provides scholarships for children who would not otherwise have the opportunity to experience the joy of dance.

We’re currently collecting gift cards, products, services, and specialty items from generous local businesses to fill our raffle baskets. Your contribution not only helps support young dancers, but it also highlights your business to hundreds of families and community members who attend our Nutcracker by seeing your donation on display or name mentioned in our program!

If you’re a business owner interested in donating for the first time or as a return contributor, please send us a message on Instagram or email [email protected]

Together, we can make dance accessible to more children in our community.

Thank you to Redding School of the Arts and The Foundation for Promoting Arts Education for hosting National Day of Dance and bringing together performers from so many different styles and art forms across Redding.

It was wonderful to see dancers of all ages from across our community come together to celebrate dance, and especially fun to watch our own dancers perform:

Join us for an elegant high tea experience in partnership with Time for Tea. Guests will enjoy finger sandwiches, scones, and freshly brewed tea.

As you sip and savor, the beloved story of The Nutcracker will be brought to life. Listen as the tale is told and watch our dancers perform magical scenes from the ballet right before your eyes.

Following the first act, a second round of tea will be served with a decadent dessert, leading into the enchanting second act, The Land of Sweets. Tea will be crowned by a special appearance from none other than the Sugar Plum Fairy herself.

To make the day even more memorable, attendees will also have the opportunity to take photos with their favorite Nutcracker characters at the end of the event.
All proceeds from the Sugar Plum Tea benefit Redding City Ballet’s Chance 2 Dance scholarship program, helping make ballet accessible to local students in 3rd–5th grade.

All Chance 2 Dance provides scholarship support for a full year of ballet training, dancewear, and the opportunity to perform in Redding City Ballet productions, including The Nutcracker and our Spring Performance

By joining us for the Sugar Plum Tea, you’re not only creating a magical holiday memory, you’re helping give more children in our community the “Chance 2 Dance”.

The Sugar Plum Tea promises to be a delightful event—the perfect outing for mothers and daughters, grandmothers and granddaughters, or best friends. Dress up, celebrate the season, and enjoy this magical holiday experience together.
