What a season it has been! Our high school team competed in seven invitationals, both online and in person, including tournaments hosted by Yale University and Sacred Heart University, and made history as the first homeschooled high school team from Connecticut to compete at the MIT Invitational. We capped it off at States with 1st in Helicopter, 1st in Rocks and Minerals, 2nd in Anatomy and Physiology, 2nd in Boomilever and 5th in Bungee Drop. Looking forward to next year!

The Fairfield County Homeschoolers Science Olympiad team was invited by Representative Tom O'Dea to the Connecticut State Capitol, where they were recognized on the floor of the Connecticut House of Representatives. Many state representatives spoke with our students, congratulating them on their win at the State competition and wishing them success as they represent Connecticut at the national level. After being recognized and applauded on the floor, students enjoyed a guided tour of the Connecticut State Capitol, where they learned more about Connecticut’s history and government.
The team extends special thanks to Tom O'Dea, State Representative, 125th District for the invitation, and to his secretary, Dorothy Getsie, for meeting our group at the Legislative Office Building, guiding us throughout the visit, and ensuring everything ran smoothly. We also thank our tour guide, Kim, for a wonderful and engaging tour and for being so kind and welcoming to our students!

Help Send Our Homeschool Science Team to Nationals
https://www.givesendgo.com/FCHS2026
On March 14th, our team—Fairfield County Homeschoolers—earned 1st Place at the Connecticut Science Olympiad. After a full year of dedication, we’ve qualified for the National Science Olympiad Tournament in California this May 2026!
This wasn’t luck—it was hard work.
Our students spent months preparing for some of the most demanding STEM events, covering Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, and Earth & Life Sciences. They’ve designed and built complex devices, studied late into the night, and pushed themselves to excel.
We are a unique team made up of homeschool students from across Fairfield and New Haven counties, brought together by a shared passion for science and learning. Without a traditional school backing us, every opportunity we pursue depends on the support of our community.
Why We Need Your Help
Qualifying for Nationals is an incredible honor—but it also comes with significant costs. As a homeschool team, we do not receive school funding, and families are responsible for all expenses.
We are raising funds to cover:
✈️ Travel to Los Angeles, California
🏨 Lodging during the competition
🧪 Materials for building and testing competition devices
📝 Tournament registration fees
Help Us Represent Connecticut on the National Stage!
These students have already proven they belong among the best in the state. With your help, they can take the next step and compete with the best in the country.
Please donate today and be part of their journey.
