At the IHSAA State Track & Field Championships, Emmanuel Grass placed 8th in the Class 2A 1600-meter final and etched his name in the Red Oak record books once again!

⏱️ 4:24.53 — a new school record, breaking the previous mark of 4:24.75 set in 1987.

A podium finish and a 39-year-old record falls. Congratulations, Emmanuel, on an incredible season and a remarkable achievement!

Senior Cale Hall closes out his Red Oak track and field career with a 3rd-place finish in the Class 2A 200 Meter Dash at the Iowa State Track & Field Championships.

The Unified Activity Federation (Iowa High School Athletic Association, Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union, Iowa High School Music Association, and Iowa High School Speech Association) Non-Contact Period for the summer of 2026 will be Sunday, July 26, 2026, through Sunday, August 2, 2026. This is the fifth year of an annual break in activities across Iowa each summer. During this time, there will be no activities in the Red Oak Community School District to include practices, contests, camps, clinics, workouts, strength and conditioning, lessons, meetings, etc.

🚨 SCHOOL RECORD ALERT 🚨

History was made on Day 3 of the IHSAA State Track & Field Championships.

Reese Montgomery shattered a Red Oak record that had stood for nearly six decades, running a blazing 1:58.33 in the 800-meter run to break the previous school record of 1:59.8, set in 1968.

To break the two-minute barrier is an accomplishment in itself. To do it on the state stage and erase a 58-year-old record makes it even more special.

At the IHSAA State Track & Field Championships, Emmanuel Grass etched his name into Red Oak history, breaking the school record in the 3200-meter run with a time of 9:29.04.

Competing against Iowa’s best, Emmanuel delivered a record-setting performance and added another chapter to an incredible season.
