As our last day of business is drawing closer, please keep an eye out for items I'll be selling. I have guitars, digital pianos, smaller violins, a trumpet, a Yamaha electric drum set, ukuleles, a few toys, various tech equipment, office equipment etc that will be for sale. If you're interested in something specific, please contact me. I'll post items as they're ready!

Mrs. Regina here! I am reaching out to our community for someone who might be able to help us with our mariachi program, Mariachi Lindo Tejas. Since I will be leaving in June, we need to find someone (or someones) who can direct our members, preferably in a concert-style Mariachi setting. We would love to find someone who is knowledgeable of:

- Violin, note reading, rhythm, posture, etc
- Guitar, basics of holding, chords (no individual notes), strum patterns
- Vihuela, same as guitar with ornaments/strum patterns
- Trumpet, basics, note reading, transposing
- Voice, basics of singing as well as belt, singing for volume safely, Spanish pronunciation in singing (do not have to speak Spanish)

And they should be knowledgeable on performance techniques for ALL instruments listed above. In addition, this person should have high moral character, be comfortable with kids and have strong communication skills.

At this time this would be a volunteer position. Just one to two hours per week. BUT we hope to be able to pay someone in the future.

This program has been such an awesome opportunity for the youth and citizens of our Ellis County community and I would absolutely hate to see it end just because I have to leave. If you know someone who can do some or all of the above, please share this with them or get me in contact somehow.

Mrs. Regina here. I am sad to announce that Red Oak Music will be closing May 31 as my husband and I are relocating to Fort Smith, Arkansas with his company.

It has been the dream of my life and the joy of my heart to touch so many lives in and around Red Oak. I remember every lesson, every recital, every student whether young or old. Thank you for trusting me to share my love and knowledge of music with you and your families.

Regular lessons with Mrs. Regina will conclude May 31, 2026. Students attending TMTA conference in Houston will continue to prepare until June 9, 2026.

Our 6th annual Winter Music at Chick Fil A Red Oak is in the books!! It was a packed house for both hours and everyone had a ball! Our deepest thanks to Chick-fil-A Red Oak for having us again this year. Our students and families always look forward to this event. We wish everyone a joyous holiday season. We are so proud of our beginner group! They have grown tremendously and we are so proud of their musical journey!🥰

No audition required to join our beginner group! Just come in and start your Mariachi journey!!🎶

I think we’ve all made it home by now. Houston was a great success! Red Oak Music was represented by 16 students this year — I believe it’s the most we’ve ever taken!

Events:

All Star Festival: I believe all received gold medals

Mariachi Lindo Tejas Jovenes: 2nd place in Jazz/Contemporary grades 7-9 (we had to compete with the oldest members so ages ranged from 1st grade up!)

Conference Projects: Deliani’s canvas is pictured below with which she was awarded a medal! It is a mural of all the things she loves

Ensemble: we had students in the elementary “Switcheroo Boogie” ensemble, late elementary “Gypsy Celebration” ensemble: both directed by WMTA president Theresa Davis, and intermediate “Let’s Beguine” ensemble directed by our own Regina Graham

I hope to have more pictures soon.

They took 2nd but it was super close!! So proud of how well these kids performed. It takes a lot of commitment, discipline, and SUPPORT to perform as a group. This was a testament to their teamwork and love for what they do. More performances coming tomorrow!

Several of our students are preparing for the Texas Music Teachers Association 2025 Conference this weekend in Houston! This is the Waxahachie Music Teachers Association intermediate piano ensemble, rehearsing their performance piece “Let’s Beguine” by Melody Bober, directed by our own Mrs. Regina!

We’ve had a BIG few days at Red Oak Music!

Friday night our community mariachi, Mariachi Lindo Tejas, hosted their first concert, Noche de Mariachi. This concert featured our Intro to Mariachi students, Tejanitos!

Sunday we had our End of Year Recitals and Awards programs. I didn’t get to take pictures so parents, please send some to me!

Also on Sunday, our Mariachi played for a birthday celebration!

And Monday morning we were invited to present at the Red Oak Public Library! We had performances from several of our students who are heading to Houston this weekend for the Texas Music Teachers Association conference.

Great job all around to all of these amazing student musicians!!
