It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Moreli Vasquez, a current JSMS 6th grade student in Red Oak ISD, this past weekend.

Moreli was a valued member of our school community, and our hearts are with her family, friends, classmates, teachers, and all who knew and loved her during this difficult time.

The family has specifically asked for prayers as they navigate this unimaginable loss. We ask our Red Oak ISD community to join us in keeping them in your thoughts and prayers in the days ahead.

Funeral services for Moreli will be held in Houston, where the family is originally from. A public visitation and viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Red Oak. https://www.greenfh.com/obituary/Moreli-Vasquez

As a district, we extend our deepest condolences to Moreli's family and loved ones. We will continue to support our students and staff as we mourn this loss together.

Summer is the perfect time to recharge, explore, and have fun! ☀️🌳🏃

Whether you're reading a good book, trying a new hobby, playing outside, staying active, or spending time with family and friends, small steps can make a big difference.

Take care of yourself, stay curious, and make the most of your summer break! 💙🧠
