We are thrilled to share that Eduard Garces has been selected as a National Book Foundation Teacher Fellow for the 2026/27 school year! The NBF Teacher Fellowship supports and celebrates 6th–12th grade teachers who use innovative methods to make reading for pleasure a part of their students’ classroom experience. Over the course of the school year, Eduard Garces will implement a reading program that focuses on the joy of reading, helping students find and read books that speak to them, and supporting the development of lifelong reading habits. As summer school wrapped up for the middle schoolers, we sure enjoyed our time together and the adventures we had. The last week we were able to jump on the bus and take a trip down to Safari North in Brainerd and enjoy a great time at the Nisswa waterpark. Summer school culminated with a family day activity. We really appreciate everyone who was able to take some time and join us. Student work was on display so everyone could see what the kids have been up to. Ms. Hady and her bucket drummers put on a show. We want to say Chi Miigwech to the Red Lake nation College for hosting a movie and pizza for us for a grand finale 🎉. Check out the summer programming they have going on in their library!
