Yesterday at Red Lake Nation Collegeā€™s Fall Orientation, we had the opportunity to welcome Gary Haglund, a returning student, and his grandson, Vaughn Smith-Ginnette, who is beginning his journey at RLNC as a new student.

Gary encouraged Vaughn to attend Red Lake Nation College, and now the two are starting this journey together as grandfather and grandson.

This is one of the reasons we call RLNC a family college. Whether youā€™re starting your college journey, returning to school, or encouraging a family member to take that next step, there is a place for you here.

Red Lake Nation College is a great place to start your educational journey, and weā€™re proud to have Gary and Vaughn as part of our RLNC family. We look forward to watching them support and encourage each other throughout their college experience.

We had a great time welcoming our new and returning students to Red Lake Nation College for Fall Semester Orientation at our Minneapolis Site yesterday!

Students had the opportunity to learn more about campus, meet fellow students, pick up their books, get important login information, and take their student ID photos. Weā€™re excited to see everyone back on campus and ready for a great semester!

Fall Semester Orientation is THIS FRIDAY Red Lake Nation College at our Red Lake Main Campus!

New students are required to attend orientation on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 10 AMā€“1 PM at our Main Campus in Red Lake. Returning students are welcome to stop by from 1ā€“3 PM.

Orientation is a great opportunity to get ready for the semester, meet fellow students, and make sure you have everything you need before classes begin. New students will be able to:

Pick up their books
Get important login information
Take pictures for their student ID

Lunch will be provided!
