Dear Parents/ Guardians of the class of 2023, I wanted to send a message of thanks. I am not sure you are aware the class gift this year was presented to the support staff in the building. Each of the support staff received a generous gift card and homemade card of thanks. You have raised some great kids and I am looking forward to hearing the great things they do on this next chapter of their lives.

News from the High School Main Office

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I am thrilled to be writing to you with less than one week until your child’s graduation!

Congratulations to your child, to you, and your whole family as you reach this incredible milestone. No doubt you have been spending much time recently reflecting on this journey. This is a wonderful time for celebration and for looking back on the hills and valleys that brought us to this point.

I am writing to provide you with the finalized details for graduation and graduation rehearsal. Below please see the relevant details for each. As always, feel free to contact me with any questions.

Graduation Rehearsal

Date: Thursday June 22nd

Time: 11:00 am

Location: High School Main Lobby

Information: Attending rehearsal is mandatory for all graduating seniors. Students should arrive to rehearsal with the following:

· District-issued laptop, charger and power block (this was previously due, but any students still in possession of these items must return them this day) - if any of these items are lost the replacement costs are:

o Charger cord - $19

o Charger block - $39

o Both pieces of charger - $58

· Parking pass

· Textbooks

· Textbook debt (if applicable)

· Athletic Uniforms/Equipment

Caps and Gowns will be distributed at this event and the full rehearsal will run roughly two hours.

Class of 2023 Graduation Ceremony

Date: Saturday June 24th

Time: 11:00 am

Location: Front Lawn at Lindon Avenue Middle School

Students should report to the Cafeteria in LAMS at 10:00 am.

There will not be seating provided on-site for families and guests- all attendees must bring their own seats. There are no limits on the number of guests if the ceremony takes place outdoors.

If there is inclement weather, the ceremony will be relocated to the Performing Arts Center located within the High School. In this scenario, each Senior will have three tickets for family attendees. These tickets will be provided to Seniors at Graduation Rehearsal. Overflow viewing for additional family members will be provided in the LAMS Cafeteria. Additionally, the ceremony will be livestreamed on YouTube – the steaming link will be posted on the website.

Senior Prom

Seniors can join their peers for one last opportunity to dance the night away. The event is taking place at the Hill in Hudson, NY – 65 Bells Pond Road, Hudson, NY

Students must arrive no later than 7:00 and must remain at the event until at least 9:00 (unless prior written permission is given). A specific permission form will be provided to students.

“Post-Prom” will take place at Bard College following the dance

Senior Walk Through

Take a walk back in time! Seniors will parade through the halls of their former schools while young students cheer and enjoy the inspiration of watching the soon-to-be grads!

Students will load the busses at 9:15 am and travel to LAMS and MR, returning to the High School at 10:30 for Senior BBQ

Students should wear their Senior Class Shirts or Red Hook Attire

Senior BBQ

Following the Senior Walk Through, Seniors will enjoy a BBQ on the High School lawn adjacent to the Soccer Field. Food, music, and games will be provided for the Seniors to enjoy. The event concludes at 11:30.

Attendance is mandatory for this very important graduation walk-through – no exceptions

Caps and gowns will be distributed at this event

Students who have lost computer equipment will be required to pay the replacement costs.

Graduation

Class of 2023 sweatshirts and t-shirts came in, artwork done by Jude Selenis, awesome job, very talented young man!

For anyone who might have missed it. There was an email sent on February 17th with information regarding ordering a cap/gown/tassel. Jostens had made a visit to the school and kids had an opportunity to order there and also can order online as well.
