🚗 🚢 During August, the TVCDC Toddler Crew's learning theme is On The Go. We have been learning about all the different ways we can get from one place to another. "Gram Is Coming To My House" has been our favorite book so far. It introduces so many vocabulary words. We have learned American Sign Language signs for many different modes of transportation. This week our focus is on boats & ships. ✈️ 🛻

😎 💧 Water Wednesdays have been so much fun! We will finish up with our final one this week. We have had a blast while staying cool! 💧 😎

This month in the Infant 1 classroom, we have made new friends and welcomed back old friends returning from summer vacation. We have enjoyed playing peekaboo with our scarves👀, using sensory bags filled with strawberries 🍓 , exploring outdoors☀️, listening to music🎶, and reading books📚. We can't wait to see what the next month has in store for us!

During July, the TVCDC Preschool Room has been busy exploring, creating, and learning! We enjoyed exciting science experiments, expressed our creativity through art, and had so much fun learning all about bubble gum with Miss Eberly. 🎨🫧
🎨 Our preschoolers love getting messy with art! This month they painted classroom windows, decorated the sidewalks with paint, created adorable octopus crafts, tore and glued paper to make watermelons and popsicles, and used dot markers to practice recognizing and spelling the letters in their names. These hands-on activities helped strengthen fine motor skills while encouraging creativity and self-expression.
🧪 We also explored science through fun experiments that sparked curiosity and encouraged our little learners to ask questions and make observations. Learning through play is one of our favorite ways to discover the world around us!

Last week, the Edgerton Explorit Center traveled from Aurora, Nebraska, to bring an exciting day of STEM learning to our community. Thanks to the generous support of Brad and Nancy Sherwood, we were able to offer this event completely free for children ages 5–12.

Their generosity has allowed us to continue providing free STEM opportunities that inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning. Through engaging, hands-on activities, children explored science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in a fun and interactive environment.

We are incredibly grateful to Brad and Nancy Sherwood for investing in our youth and helping create meaningful learning experiences that children in our community will remember for years to come. 🤝👩‍🔬🧩🔋💡🧬🧪🦉
