🌟 Alumni Spotlight: Jennifer (Cowell) Deterding 🌟
From the SJB classrooms to a global career in finance, our alumni continue to inspire! Today, we are excited to feature Jennifer (Cowell) Deterding, Class of 1989! 🎓

After graduating from SJB and Red Bud High School ('93), Jennifer earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Illinois College in 1997. She is now celebrating an incredible 28 years in the finance industry, currently working as a Commercial Rights Assurance Data Analyst for the London Stock Exchange Group! 📊💼

❤️ Deep SJB Roots & Family Life
Jennifer’s connection to St. John the Baptist remains strong! She and her husband, Alex (married in 2008), are proud parents to three children: Claire (RBHS Senior), Ava (RBHS Sophomore), and Blake, who is currently in 7th grade right here at SJB! 🐝

They also share their home with their long-haired miniature dachshund, Dolly. Jennifer loves cooking, family time, cheering on the Cardinals and Chiefs, and attending her kids' cross country meets, track races, and cheer competitions! She also serves as a Special Eucharistic Minister at SJB.

We asked Jennifer to reflect on her time at SJB and share some favorite memories:

🎶 Favorite SJB Memories:
"Mrs. Fahey was my favorite teacher in 8th grade. I also enjoyed how our class was always chosen to sing for funerals.

Mrs. Zervos in 6th grade made us do the Hokey Pokey dance every afternoon, and we all had to take turns leading the class. It definitely helped us wake up when we were tired in the afternoon!" 🕺

💬 Jennifer’s Message to Current Students:
"Stay friends with teachers after graduation. I’m friends on Facebook with Sr. Deb (my 2nd-grade teacher), and it is so neat to see my son with the same teachers who used to teach me!"
