Tomorrow Tuesday, September 1 begins our first day of Pre- School Skills for our Fall Season 2026. Classses are Tuesdays and/or Fridays from 9:30-12:00pm. Choose 1 or 2 days a week. Whatever fits your schedule. There are still a few spots available so hurry to enroll before they are all filled.

Neuroscience and developmental psychology show that safe rough-and-tumble play plays an important role in children’s emotional and social development. This kind of play helps children practice self-regulation, read social cues, and manage excitement without becoming overwhelmed.

Physical play supports brain development by increasing overall neural stimulation and promoting executive functions such as attention control, flexibility, and emotional regulation. Children learn how to balance strength with restraint, excitement with calm, and competition with cooperation.

Importantly, when rough play is warm, responsive, and clearly bounded, it predicts better emotional resilience, stronger peer skills, and improved self-control later in life.

In short, playful physical interaction isn’t chaos, it’s a training ground for the developing brain, teaching children how to navigate energy, emotion, and social connection safely and effectively.
