Skyline Community School, Inc. A Non-Profit 501(c)3 Nature Immersion Program We explore ways to practice stewardship of the natural world.

Our Mission

To provide a nurturing space that inspires children to preserve and deepen their connections to community, self, and the natural world. We strive to create a positive educational experience that meets the needs of the whole child and continues to adapt to the changing world. Founding Principles

• Create a positive, secure environment where children’s own unique abilities guide their individualized learning plan. Curiosity is encouraged and play is foundational.

• Plan and implement intentional learning experiences that meet the developmental needs of the whole child - social, emotional, physical and intellectual. We set the foundation for lifelong learning by giving adequate time to master skills in a judgement free zone.

• Encourage our students to have fulfilling, healthy, balanced lives, rooted in deep connection with our natural environment. A strong moral compass will guide them on their path and will instill lifelong healthy practices of valuing oneself.

• Celebrate diversity by incorporating a range of ages in one classroom to allow students the opportunity to learn from and share knowledge with one another.

We had the pleasure of welcoming local author Cheryl Geiger Sheeler, Illustration & Design this afternoon to share her book Feathered Spirits with us.

We loved listening to the inspiration behind her beautiful illustrations, her journey, and how this book came to be.

Our kids were curious, inspired, and wanted to share about their own bird encounters. We had the opportunity to become more familiar with birds, their names, and even enjoyed creating our own watercolor paintings.

We had such a great time at our Plant & Seed Swap yesterday! Thank you to our families and community for coming out to support Skyline.

There was a great variety of seeds and plants and everyone got to take home a little something special.

We are already looking forward to hosting the next swap as some of our friends couldn't make it.
