A big thank you to the 11 student interns who helped make Momentum Makers possible this summer! 🌟

Working alongside our faculty and staff, our interns supported and encouraged campers throughout their experiences—helping students explore new interests, tackle challenges, and make the most of every opportunity to learn.

Along the way, they gained valuable experience in mentorship, leadership, and working with young learners.

Thank you for the energy, patience, and care you brought to our students all summer long!

An inspiring week of learning, connection and new perspectives at Oxford!

Creativity & Innovation at University of Oxford brought the Alvernia University Total Experience Learning community together for an immersive experience exploring ideas across education, science, sustainability and innovation.

Among the week’s speakers was Dr. Eddy Palmer, an Oxford-trained educator and researcher whose work examines childhood, schooling, human flourishing and the moral purposes of education. His session challenged participants to think deeply about the values and virtues schools help cultivate—and what it truly means to educate a human being.

Participants also learned from Dr. Amelia Farber, an Environmental Change Research Fellow at Reuben College, University of Oxford. Drawing from her research in the Galápagos Islands and work on Net Zero education in England, she explored how schools and communities can engage young people in environmental and climate learning.

Professor Cecilia M. Lindgren, PhD, FMedSci, shared another powerful perspective. A University of Oxford professor and internationally recognized leader in data science, computational medicine and biotechnology, she has authored more than 240 peer-reviewed publications and is among the top 0.1% most cited scientists worldwide.

Thank you to the speakers, participants and partners who made this experience one to remember. Until next time, Oxford! ✨

"As a parent, that's what I think makes TEXPL so valuable. Sometimes you don't discover what you love by reading about it, or hearing about it, you discover it by trying it. Giving students the chance to learn by doing can open doors they never expected."

This summer, Natalie joined our Sustainable Fashion Momentum Makers camp at Alvernia University, and although it wasn't her first choice, she quickly found her passion, coming home each day excited about her projects before telling her family, "I think I could major in this."

That's what Momentum Makers is all about, giving students the opportunity to explore new interests and discover passions they never expected.

🩺 Healthcare is more than what happens at the bedside—and today our Momentum Makers Medical Science campers got to see that firsthand.

During their visit to Reading Hospital - Tower Health, students explored neurology, practiced lifesaving skills through Stop the Bleed and CPR/AED training, learned how research drives medical innovation, and discovered the critical role health data plays in patient care. By learning directly from healthcare professionals, students gained a broader understanding of the many career pathways within medicine while experiencing the power of hands-on, real-world learning.

Thank you to the Reading Hospital team for sharing your expertise and inspiring the next generation of healthcare leaders!
