This morning, something really sweet happened, and I’d love to share it with you. But first, I need to explain a few things so the story makes sense.
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about some of my loved ones who have passed away. I’ve even been asking that, if any of them wanted to say hello, they would do it in a way that was unmistakable.
Fast forward to this morning.
I had medical testing scheduled for 10:30 a.m., followed by bloodwork. As I was getting ready, I had a strong intuitive nudge to go to the lab first and have my blood drawn before the other testing. It didn’t really make sense, but I’ve learned to trust those quiet whispers.
I arrived at the lab at 9:30 a.m. and was finished by 9:35. I fully expected to wait nearly an hour before my EKG, but the technician smiled and said, “I can take you right back.” I was pleasantly surprised.
Afterward, I decided to pick up breakfast for my son before heading home. As I was leaving the drive-thru, I suddenly felt an even stronger nudge to go to Barnes & Noble.
I absolutely love that store, but I rarely go anymore because it’s a bit of a drive. Still, something kept telling me to go.
I wandered around for quite a while, wondering why I had been pulled there. Feeling a little disappointed, I finally picked out two items and got in line to check out.
There was a woman at the register with a little boy who looked to be about two years old. A man was waiting behind her, and two more men were standing behind me. Those details matter.
Something was holding up the checkout, and the little boy became restless. He stepped back, looked directly at me, (not anyone else in line) and smiled. I smiled and waved back.
He ran back to the woman, then turned around again, walked over, and tossed his little ball toward me. I picked it up and handed it back to him as he came closer. He had the most beautiful, soulful eyes.
Then I heard the woman say, “Santino, say thank you.”
My jaw dropped.
Santino was my grandfather’s name… and he was one of the loved ones I’d been hoping would say hello. 💕
The little boy ran back to the woman. She smiled at me and thanked me, and I somehow managed to say, “Santino was my grandfather’s name.”
She smiled, looking just as surprised as I was.
In that moment, I knew I had received the unmistakable sign I’d been asking for.
Looking back, the entire morning seemed to unfold perfectly, the intuitive nudge to change my schedule, finishing my appointments early, the unexpected pull to Barnes & Noble, getting into the checkout line when I did, and then hearing my grandfather’s exact name connected to a little boy with the sweetest eyes who chose me to throw his ball to.
Coincidence?
Maybe. But I belive it was a wink from spirit reminding me they are always with us. 💕
Moments like this remind me why I continue to trust my intuition. Sometimes life has a beautiful way of whispering back when we’re willing to listen….
P.S.
When I got home, I removed the bandage from where my blood had been drawn. The blood on the gauze had formed a tiny heart…. ❤️
