BECEC is a group of people who meet regularly to improve Early Intervention Services in Berks County. Parents are especially welcome at all meetings!

Please join us for our upcoming Annual Fall Retreat on September 24, 2026 from 9 to 2 at the BCIU Main Office located at 1111 Commons Blvd Reading, PA 19605. Starting at 9:00 we will be joined by our featured speaker Christian Bellisimo as we dive into the topic of using play to support social-emotional learning. Following lunch which will be provided we will spend the remaining time planning for the coming year.

Early Intervention Services for children under the age of 3 are available through SAM Early Intervention. Please reach out with any questions or to submit a referral to begin the process.

Pennsylvania State Interagency Coordinating Council (SICC) invites families of children currently receiving Early Intervention (EI) services and parent co-chairs of the Local Interagency Coordinating Councils (LICC) to join the SICC Family Meet and Greet on Thursday, August 13th , 11:30am -12:30pm. This event takes place through Zoom. Please note the meet and greet is designed exclusively for families of children currently receiving EI services and parent co-chairs of LICCs.

The SICC Meet and Greet is an opportunity to connect with other EI families, learn more about the purpose of the State Interagency Coordinating Council and how families can be involved. See attached flyer for registration details. After registration, the Zoom details will be sent a few days prior to the meet and greet to the email chosen to register with.

The SICC meeting will follow at 12:30 pm, and participation is highly welcomed and encouraged but not required.

Sensory-Friendly Saturday: Animal Friends, on July 25, 2026 from 9 - 11 am at the Brandywine Museum of Art.

This program includes:
· Pre-visit social stories
· Reduced crowding and noise
· Activities to meet a variety of sensory needs
· Hands-on art activities for all developmental levels
· Multi-sensory stations to explore paintings in our galleries
· On-hand support of skilled and friendly volunteers
· Sensory regulation resources such as fidgets, noise-canceling headphones, and sunglasses
· Sensory break areas
· Sensory nature walk (weather permitting)

Join SAM Early Intervention staff along with several other community organizations for an upcoming resource fair on Friday, June 19th from 12-4.

AAA and the Highway Safety Patrol will be on-site conducting car seat safety checks. Checks will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Upon check-in, families will receive a designated time slot to bring their vehicle around for inspection. There will be 4–8 certified technicians available to help move families through the process efficiently.

While families wait for their scheduled inspection time, they will have the opportunity to visit and engage with participating community organizations inside the event.

2026 Virtual Parent Café Series
DIVE INTO SUMMER! Parent Cafés are guided group meetings where parents come together to talk, share, and support each other. Parents learn ways to keep their families strong. These cafés are for Pennsylvania families in Early Intervention or Home Visiting programs.

•Cafés are virtual. A Zoom link will be sent after registration.
