At Reading School of Guitar, students get the energy and motivation of learning in small groups, combined with individualized coaching and support to help them build skills, work through challenges, and keep progressing.

And there’s a lot more to learning music than just lessons. Students have opportunities to play with other musicians, join bands, perform, attend workshops, and become part of a real musical community.

Whether your child is picking up a guitar for the very first time or is ready for something more than traditional lessons, we’d love to meet them.

We have programs for kids, teens, and adults, from beginners through experienced players.

Every month this event reminds me why live music matters.

Saturday night was another great Open Mic with a room full of supportive people cheering on musicians of all ages and experience levels. We had several first-time performers, students wrapping up our Rock Lab Summer Sessions, and returning musicians who continue to inspire others to get up and play.

One of my favorite moments is watching the audience, where every song is met with applause, encouragement, and genuine excitement. That's the kind of music community we're trying to build.

Thank you to everyone who performed, everyone who came out to support them, and everyone who helped make the night a success.

A special thank you to for continuing to host us and providing such a welcoming space for local musicians to perform each month.

If you've been thinking about getting on stage, come join us next time. You'll be surrounded by people who want to see you succeed.

What a week.

Our Rock Lab Summer Sessions wrapped up with rehearsals, plenty of noise, new friendships, and two live performances in front of family, friends, and our Open Mic audience.

Watching these musicians grow in just one week was incredible. They learned songs together, figured out how to work as a band, and experienced what it's like to perform on stage. More importantly, they had fun doing it.

Before everyone headed home, we asked the students one simple question:

"If a friend asked you, 'What's Rock Lab like?' What would you tell them?"

Here are a few of their answers:

🎸 "Playing fun songs with nice people."

🎸 "You meet up with people and hang out and play music together."

🎸 "Playing in a rock band with kids your age."

🎸 "Loud." 😄

We also asked them to describe the week in one word.

Fun. Amazing. Informational. Good.

I'd call that a success.

A huge thank you to all of our students for bringing so much energy and enthusiasm every day, to the families who trusted us with their kids, and to teacher Rob for helping make the week such a memorable experience.

We can't wait to do it again.

What an amazing night!

Our Open Mic was packed with incredible performances – students, families, local musicians, and bands of all ages. From solo performers to full groups, everyone brought something special to the stage.

A huge thank you to everyone who performed, and to everyone who came out to listen, cheer, and support live local music.

We can't wait to do it again this summer!
