What’s something you’d love to teach a young person? 💜

CHOR’s Foster Care program is looking for volunteers to share their skills, experiences, and interests with youth. Talk about your career, teach a practical skill like cooking or budgeting, or introduce them to a hobby you enjoy.

Our next Share Your Skills opportunity is October 14. You don’t need teaching experience—just something you’d enjoy sharing!

📸 One more look back at an incredible United Way Day of Caring!

We were grateful to welcome 31 volunteers who spent the day giving their time and energy to support CHOR Youth & Family Services. From sorting donations and assembling marketing materials to making bracelets, working in our Foster Care garden, washing cars, and more, our volunteers jumped right in and accomplished so much!

A huge thank you to United Way of Berks County and the amazing teams from Utilities Employees Credit Union, Reading-Berks Association of REALTORS®, Patriot Growth Insurance Services, Connors Investor Services, Alcon, UGI Utilities, Inc., and Weidenhammer for spending the day with us.

We loved getting to know everyone, sharing more about CHOR, and seeing so many people come together for our youth and families.

On Sunday, October 18, participating motorcycle clubs and riders will come together for a Holiday Toy Run benefiting CHOR Youth & Family Services and officially kicking off our 2026 Holiday Gift Drive!

Participants are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys to help make the holiday season brighter for the children and families served by CHOR. 🎁

❤️ Help a CHOR Family Settle Into Their New Apartment

Today, one of our CHOR families visited the CHOR Resource Room as they prepare for an exciting milestone — moving into their own apartment after experiencing homelessness.

We were grateful to help the family with clothing, shoes, toiletries and other essentials, along with some toys and books for their little one.

As they prepare to move into their apartment, they are still in need of basic kitchen essentials, including pots and pans, plates and bowls, cups, silverware, cooking utensils, and other everyday kitchen necessities.

New or gently used items in clean, good condition are welcome.

If you would like to help this CHOR family get settled into their apartment, please contact Ashley Hugg at 484-797-5591 to coordinate a donation.
