Exeter Township School District This is the official page of the Exeter Township School District We learn and work in six schools, a cyber academy and an administration building.

Exeter Township School District sits within the heart of Berks County to welcome students to our community-centered and pride-filled schools. Here, our caring community of teachers and administrators focus on the basics and beyond, working to bring out each and every student's limitless potential in thinking, creating, exploring and achieving so that he or she leaves our district with the skills and confidence to tackle citizenship, careers and college. Within our district, you'll find three different elementary centers serving K-4 students at Owatin Creek, Lorane and Jacksonwald. From there, our students continue their journey together to the Reiffton School for 5th and 6th grade, and then head up the street to the Exeter Township Junior High for 7th and 8th grade. Our students then complete their education at the Exeter Township Senior High, which serves students in 9th through 12th grade. After graduation, you'll see approximately 70% of our students go on to learn more at colleges, universities and trade schools across the nation. We are proud to serve students of all ethnicities, orientations and abilities who are welcome at our schools to find out how high they can soar as an Eagle. Members of our Exeter Football team kicked off Homecoming Week by giving back to the community they’re so proud to represent.

This weekend, members of the team participated in NorthStar United Methodist Church’s Day of Service, where they prepared and packed 400 lunches for individuals experiencing homelessness or food insecurity. Each bag included a turkey and cheese or ham and cheese sandwich, fruit, chips, a sweet treat and a handwritten card of encouragement from one of our players. They also assembled hygiene kits filled with essentials such as a washcloth, towel, comb, nail clippers and bandages. Once their work was finished, the lunches and hygiene kits made their way into the hands of individuals in need throughout the community.

We can’t think of a better way to kick off Homecoming Week than by showing the spirit of service, connection and Eagle pride that makes this week so special! We hope you’ll help us keep that same spirit going over the next few days as we come together for our Homecoming Parade tomorrow and our Homecoming football game on Friday! Giulia Weisser teed up Exeter history yesterday at Golden Oaks, clinching the BCIAA Girls Golf Championship to become the first girl in Exeter's history to win three consecutive county golf titles. Giulia's impressive win tees her up for PIAA's District III Tournament, which will be held on October 1st and 3rd in York. Friday night lights started a little earlier for our freshmen last Friday! For the second year, the freshman class kicked off a home football game with a freshmen-only "tailgate," giving our newest SHS students a chance to hang out, have some fun and build a little class spirit before heading into the football game together.

Nearly 100 freshmen filled the baseball outfield for yard games, music, ice cream and plenty of snacks, which were donated by our generous freshman families. Students also picked up free t-shirts and spirit beads before receiving complimentary admission to that evening’s football game.

The event was supported by our Link Crew upperclassmen, who helped with everything from games and activities to setup and cleanup.

Many thanks to Mrs. Kaleigh Stewart, who advises the freshmen class, and her assistant, Emily Showers; Assistant Principal Mrs. Heather Mills; the Link Crew; and all of the students and families who helped make the evening come together. We love seeing a new Exeter tradition take shape that helps give our newest students an opportunity to make connections and feel at home at the Senior High! 💙🦅

We, the people of the Exeter Township School District, celebrated Constitution Day today with plenty of ways for our Eagles to learn about the document that begins with those famous words.

Throughout our elementary schools, students explored the branches of government, the Bill of Rights, checks and balances and more through books, videos, games and hands-on activities. At Lorane, kindergarteners colored as they learned about the symbols and ideas behind the Constitution. Jacksonwald kindergarteners even had a special guest reader when Mr. Hathaway stopped by to share a story about the Preamble. At Owatin Creek, fourth graders took their learning outside to take notes on interesting facts about the Constitution on cards that were placed throughout the amphitheater.

And, of course, no Constitution Day would be complete without a few classrooms singing along to the classic Schoolhouse Rock “Preamble” video!

Our older Eagles got in on the day, too, with Junior High students learning through research, discussions and games, while Senior High students explored the Constitution through activities in Civics, History and Government classes.

From our youngest Eagles to our oldest, Constitution Day definitely proved to be a day to bring ‘We the People’ off the page and into our collective classrooms. 💙🦅🇺🇸

It's almost HOCO time! We can't wait to have you join us next Thursday on the 24th of September at 6PM for our annual Homecoming Parade! This highly-anticipated and beloved Exeter tradition features hundreds of students from kindergarten through 12th grade parading through our campuses and surrounding neighborhoods on elaborately-themed, game-inspired floats. Make sure you bring your appetite, too: Food trucks will be on hand in Reiffton's parking lot for hungry parade-goers to get dinner, dessert and all the snacks as the night concludes with performances by our marching band and cheerleaders, a bonfire lighting and the introduction of this year's Homecoming Court.

We’re so proud to announce that Kean Miller was recognized as a Commended Student in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program. Each year, approximately 1.3 million high school students enter the National Merit Scholarship Program, but only about 34,000--or less than 3%--are named Commended Students based on their exceptional performance on the 2025 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

A senior who is active in tennis, Model UN and the Reading Olympics, Kean hopes to study political science at American University so that he can eventually work to help people "and try to make the world a better place." This morning, students filled the stands of Don Thomas Stadium to pay their respects to the brave, the heroic and the fallen during the Senior High's annual 9/11 ceremony. Though no student sitting in the stands had yet been born on that fateful morning 25 years ago, they listened intently as Alice Hinkle, an RN who responded to the Flight 93 crash site, shared her firsthand experience as part of the mental health support team that assisted public safety personnel and federal agents in the weeks following the September 11th attacks. Chris Breneman, a supervisor at Penn State Health Life Lion EMS-Berks County, then presented a flag to honor Christopher Gerstner, also an EMT with Life Lion and volunteer member of Central Berks Fire Company, who was recognized for his service as a first responder and military veteran. Gerstner enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 2005 as a medical technician and served for 20 years, including deployments to Iraq and the United Arab Emirates and a stateside aeromedical evacuation deployment helping bring wounded service members home.

During the ceremony, Assistant Principal Matt Bauer reminded students why this day of remembrance endures in our schools: "More than two decades have now passed. Students, none of you were alive in 2001, but all of us continue to live in the shadow of that day. We recognize the ongoing threat of terrorism, and we encourage you to take time to speak with your teachers and parents about their experiences and memories. The first responders and service members who made tremendous sacrifices on September 11th--and every day since--deserve our gratitude and our respect. They also deserve our commitment to learn, to understand and to reflect," he said. "Thank you for coming together as a community to do just that." 💙🦅🇺🇸
