For Exeter students, book bag pick up is at the church this Friday, August 7th from 9-11AM and 3-5PM.

It doesn't get much better than a beautiful day at Reading Country Club for the Exeter Community Education Foundation's annual Golf Tournament! Thanks to the incredible generosity of sponsors, golfers, volunteers and supporters, this year's tournament raised more than $30,000 to support programs and services that benefit Exeter Township School District students.

A huge thank you to ECEF's Executive Director Ang Cooke and chairpeople Megan Blew and Kristy Weller, as well as everyone who spent the day with us and helped make the tournament another great success. Congratulations to recent Exeter grad Mackenzie Mentzer on being named a 2025-26 United Soccer Coaches High School Scholar All-Region selection! This prestigious honor recognizes student-athletes who excel both in the classroom and in competition, making it a fitting achievement for one of Exeter's most accomplished student-athletes.

Throughout her high school career, Mackenzie balanced a rigorous AP and honors course load while earning AP Scholar honors, maintaining Gold Eagle academic distinction and membership in the National Honor Society. On the soccer field, she finished her career with 91 goals, 46 assists and 228 career points, including a school-record 37 goals during her senior season, leading the Eagles to the program's first-ever BCIAA Girls Soccer Championship. She was a two-time Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association All-State selection, the 2025 Berks County Player of the Year and earned numerous all-county and regional honors during her career.

Mackenzie will continue her academic and athletic career at East Carolina University this fall where she will compete in NCAA Division I women's soccer. 💙🦅

Superintendent Dr. Christy Haller and Board President Mrs. Julie Shaffer were proud to highlight Exeter's leadership in securing energy savings for taxpayers during a press conference held last week at Owatin Creek. The press conference, which was held by Rep. Jacklyn Rusnock, and also attended by state leaders in construction and environmental conservation, touted the economic benefits of solar energy for businesses, taxpayers and Pennsylvania residents.

“At Exeter Township School District, our solar farm at Owatin Creek Elementary is expected to generate approximately 40 percent of the electricity needed for seven district buildings and our transportation garage while saving our community more than $10 million over the next 30 years,” said Dr. Haller. “Those savings represent more than lower utility bills—they create greater financial stability and help us direct resources where they belong: Supporting students and classrooms.”

Mrs. Shaffer noted that Pennsylvania’s Solar for Schools grant and other rebates made the project fiscally possible with very minimal upfront costs for the district: “From the very beginning, the Board of School Directors approached this project with one guiding principle: Every decision had to make sound financial sense for our community. We spent years carefully evaluating proposals, asking difficult questions and ensuring that this investment would deliver meaningful, long-term value.”

The district is expected to begin construction on the solar farm at Owatin Creek Elementary within the next several weeks, which is why it was selected as the site for the press conference for state leaders. 💙🦅
