Sending lots of to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce for supporting Helping Harvest and our students ❤️🌊
‼️ Big news from Helping Harvest! ‼️
We’re beyond grateful to announce a $1 million gift from Berks County’s own Taylor Swift and her fiancé, Travis Kelce to help fight hunger! 🎶🏈
Taylor grew up right here in our service territory, and today, she and Travis are giving back to neighbors in her hometown and surrounding communities. At a time when more families than ever are turning to us for help, this gift will help us continue putting nutritious food on tables across Berks and Schuylkill counties. 🍽️🍎
As Taylor once sang, “long live all the mountains we moved.” Today, thanks to Taylor and Travis’ kindness, we moved one together. 🏔️
Thank you for your generosity, Taylor and Travis, from the bottom of our hearts. 🫶

Some of our students recently had the amazing opportunity to shadow researchers from The University of Utah as they studied American kestrels at Potter's Farm.
The researchers are working locally thanks to a collaboration with Hawk Mountain Sanctuary Association.
Throughout the morning, students got an up-close view of the data collection phase of an experiment, learned how kestrels help control farm pests without the use of chemicals, and received tips on how to protect America’s smallest and most colorful wild falcons.
They also explored 20 acres of native wildflower meadows, viewed a reforestation planting, and identified a wide variety of birds using the Merlin app from Cornell University.
To close things out, student enjoyed a farm picnic featuring local potatoes, strawberries from Jersey Acres Farm, and hot dogs from Honey Brook Farm before stopping for a scavenger hunt and a locally made ice cream treat at The Farm Store in Pottsville.
Thank you to the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture for making field trips to conservation-focused farms possible through the Farm to School grant.
Note: All birds were handled under scientific research permits.
