PART 2 🇺🇲⭐️
06/06/2026
Over the last few weeks of the school year, students and staff at Lengel completed a variety of activities to celebrate America's 250th Birthday. Classes learned more about our country on a national and local level and researched some important events, people, & symbols of the USA.
🇺🇲 5th Grade created a timeline of American History
🇺🇲 6th Grade completed "Symbols of America" Projects
🇺🇲 7th & 8th Grade completed "Influential American" Projects, with each choosing from a list of individuals from either the 1700 - 1800s or 1900s to today.
🇺🇲 All students & staff had the opportunity to create a link on our "Freedoms Chain", Sign our Declarations, and have some fun in our Photo Booth.
⭐️ Happy 250th Birthday, America!! ⭐️

The Envirothon Team took their aquatic knowledge to the Little Schuylkill River where they conducted field research to determine the water quality by surveying benthic macroinvertebrates as bio-indicators! The data collected indicated excellent water quality, as many macroinvertebrate species were found that cannot tolerate polluted water!
We also stopped by Cabela’s to view our state fish, the brook trout, in the aquarium, as well as other wildlife exhibits.

Students in Ms. Edling and Mr. Blankenhorn's 7th Grade Social Studies Classes brainstormed symbols that would celebrate America's 250th Birthday and/or honor the 25th Anniversary of 9/11. They then designed a drawing on a piece of cloth that will be sent to the "My America 2026" Project, to be included with tiles from thousands of other schools across the nation to create a enormous American flag. 🇺🇲
(**Check out the last photo in this post from the myamerica250.org website to see the flag that has been formed so far, and that our cloth tiles will be added to soon!)
