Ann Louise Kennedy
December 6, 1943 - August 22, 2022

Ann Louise Kennedy, 78, of Jonesville and formerly of Reading, passed away Monday, August 22. 2022 at her home. She was born December 6, 1943, in Reading to Frank and Margaret (Barnhart) Chester.

Ann graduated from Reading High School, Class of 1961. She was employed by the State of Michigan as a Program Administrator in the unemployment department, however, her true love was arts and crafts. She enjoyed working at the Country Loft in Somerset for many years. Ann cherished her family and was a loving mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her two sons, Raymond Kennedy, Jr. of Jackson and Tim (Erika) Kennedy of Los Angeles, CA; granddaughter, Mia Kennedy and brother, Joe (Elaine) Chester of Talbott, TN.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Graveside services for Ann Kennedy will be held Thursday, August 25, 2022, at 2:00 PM, at Maplewood Cemetery in Reading with Pastor Deb Cole officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Reading.

Greetings all! Just a reminder that our 57th annual class gathering is next Saturday, 5 PM at Olivia’s Chop House in downtown Jonesville, MI. Please let Don Lee know if you are coming! The cost for the meal is $28 per person and covers meal, dessert, drink, tax and tip. Choices are Prime Rib, Chicken Marsala, or Salmon. We hope to see you there.

Here is Lucy's obituary:
Lucile Janett Missimer, age 74, died Thursday, December 28, 2017. She was born February 6, 1943 in Sturgis, Michigan to Harold and Gladys (Graham) Missimer.

From early childhood she lived in Reading, Michigan, graduating Valedictorian from Reading High School in 1961. She received her Bachelors with high honors in Education from Michigan State University in 1965, where she was a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and later earned her MS from Michigan State also.

She began her teaching career in Schwartz Creek Public School in 1965; she soon after moved to DeWitt Public Schools and taught 2nd grade for the next 38 years, eventually having students in her class whose parent(s) she had taught. She was active in the Teachers Union, often serving on the negotiating team.

Retiring in 2004, with a GPS supporting her directional challenge, she became quite the traveler. She continued being a DeWitt fan, cheering on her former second graders as they played sports and at graduation time. Social in many aspects of life, she will be missed by her many friends. Lucile was also an avid MSU football fan; she never missed a tailgate and was famous for her chocolate chip cookies. She also loved animals, especially cats, always having one nearby.

She is survived by her aunt, Evelyn (Missimer) Jost; brother, Roger (Jane) Missimer; niece, Catherine (William) Marlin; nephews, David (Linda) Missimer, John Missimer; grand nieces, Jane Marlin and Abigale Missimer; and grand nephews, Cody Missimer, Wilson Marlin, John David Marlin and Andrew Missimer.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. January 6, 2018 at the MSU Alumni Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Friends of the DeWitt Nature Center 1314 Sandhill Dr. DeWitt, MI 48820 or the Ingham County Animal Shelter, 600 Curtis Street, Mason MI 48854.

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our dear classmate, Lucille Missimer at 4:30 PM today, December 28, 2017. Tentative plans are for a service on Saturday, January 8, 2018 at the MSU Chapel followed by a reception at the Kellogg Center. Guests are encouraged to wear green and white. More details will be posted as available.

50th Class Reunion

Dear Classmates,

We have finalized plans for our 54th year gathering on August 29. 2015. We will be meeting at the home of Mike and Diane Pridgeon. Gathering time will be anytime after Noon with lunch at 1 PM. Mike and Diane will provide grilled burgers, sandwich condiments, and baked beans. Gale and Diane Netcher will provide plates, cups and silverware. The Class Fund will proved a couple salads and the buns. Don and Susan Lee will provide bottle water and a desert. We wanted to make it easy on those travelling, so if you want to bring something, deserts or chips would be fine. Also, bring lawn chairs and your own drinks, if you want something other than water. There will be plenty of time to visit and still get home at a decent time. Weather permitting, Mike will offer tours of their farm operation to those interested.

Please contact any classmates you are usually in touch with. Just a reminder, we will spend a few minutes discussing the 55th Reunion next year. Please bring suggestions to help make it special!

53rd Year Picnic

Okay, here's some shots from the 53rd year picnic held August 23, 2014. As we plan for the 54th year picnic in 2015, there are five Saturdays in August again, so the date for the picnic will be August 22. Please mark it down and plan to be with us. We will also lay out some plans for our 55th year reunion. Thanks Mike and Jim for the outstanding barbecued ribs, walleye and salmon. it was a beautiful evening together.
