The School Committee is pleased to announce that we have reached agreement on and executed a contract with Dr. Henry Turner to be the next Superintendent of the Reading Public Schools.

Dr. Turner will join us in July on a three-year contract. Please join us in welcoming him to Reading!

Stay tuned for opportunities to connect with Dr. Turner once he begins in the role.

The Superintendent candidate community engagement session scheduled for Monday March 23rd has been canceled due to the candidate withdrawing from the process.

If you have any questions on the budget, we request that you submit them to Olivia Lejeune via email ([email protected]) by January 23rd at 11:59 PM. Alternatively, you can join the School Committee for its annual Public Hearing on the budget at the Reading Memorial High School Library this Thursday, the 23rd of January at 7 p.m.

Following the Public Hearing and question submission, an updated FY26 Budget publication, including FAQs, will be included in the School Committee packet on January 28th. The School Committee will vote on the FY26 Budget on January 30th to deliver it to the Town Manager by January 31st, per the Town Charter.
