In light of the terrible tragedy in our community, we are postponing tonight’s School Committee meeting.

Tonight’s meeting was supposed to be both celebratory, recognizing the incredible accomplishments of our National Merit Scholars, and intensely focused on difficult decisions that lay ahead.  I don’t view this as the right time to have that meeting.

Our thoughts are with all who knew and loved Andria Hanafin.

The School Committee is pleased to announce that we have reached agreement on and executed a contract with Dr. Henry Turner to be the next Superintendent of the Reading Public Schools.

Dr. Turner will join us in July on a three-year contract. Please join us in welcoming him to Reading!

Stay tuned for opportunities to connect with Dr. Turner once he begins in the role.

The Superintendent candidate community engagement session scheduled for Monday March 23rd has been canceled due to the candidate withdrawing from the process.
