🕊️ Honoring 9/11 in Unity 🕊️

We came together at Judge Hall to remember 9/11 in a powerful way. Our Interfaith Memorial Service illuminated the strength of diversity and the unwavering spirit of hope.

With deep gratitude, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the Jewish Federation, Islamic Center, Fresh Wind (the gospel singer), and our dedicated Fire Department of Reading for joining us in this meaningful event. Your presence made a significant difference.

Let's always hold the memory of those we lost close to our hearts and continue to build bridges of understanding and compassion.

Today, Monday August 28th, marks the 60th anniversary of the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom where hundreds of thousands of people joined together to combat white supremacy in the United States. As we memorialize that historic march, we must also be mindful of the horrific September 15, 1963 retaliatory bombing of 16th Street Baptist Church that killed four little girls, Addie Mae Collins, Cynthia Wesley, Carole Robertson, and Carol Denise McNair. The 1963 march for black racial uplift and the white supremacist retaliation remind us that racially-motivated hatred and violence are part of our nation’s historical narrative that we must not ignore. Saturday’s white supremacist attack on black shoppers in Jacksonville, FL reminds us that this hatred and violence is sadly part of our nation’s current climate and culture.
