I hear ya because this is a common issue!

๐Ÿ‘‰ Letโ€™s break it down.. weight loss is cumulative. So if we add up all the food you consumed in the week and all the calories you burnt for the week, you want to be in an overall healthy calorie deficit

SO.. if you eat healthy all week, but then indulge on the weekend you might be cancelling out the calorie deficit you put yourself in during the wee!
This might be preventing weight loss, slowing down progress, or causing weight gain๐Ÿšซ

This is why I donโ€™t promote this style of eating with my clients!

PLUS, if you are really restricting during the week and not allowing yourself any sweets or โ€œbad foodsโ€, you are going to go alllll in when you let yourself have it on the weekend

๐Ÿ‘‰ Instead I teach my clients how to eat a well balanced diet daily and eat the sweets and yummy food when you are craving them!

ELBOW PAIN WITH BICEP CURLS?

The elbow can move in supination and pronation (the palm rotating up and the palm rotating down).. bicep curls require a good amount of elbow supination (palm up)

If you are someone that doesnโ€™t have a ton of elbow supination (which is pretty common in adults), using a straight bar in the gym will most likely cause elbow painโ€ผ๏ธ

An easy switch ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿฝ ditch the straight bars for an EZ bar. It will put your forearm in more of a neutral position. Another good option is using dumbbells! Come up on a little bit of an angle instead of trying to curl straight up.

If you arenโ€™t exploring and using your current range of motion in your joints daily, that range of motion will start to decline!

You donโ€™t get aches and pains in your joints from old age, you get aches and pains from not moving your body enough and giving your joints what they need to stay healthyโ€ผ๏ธ

Idk about you but Iโ€™ve been sitting inside a whole lot lately with all the snow๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ Hereโ€™s a little mobility sequence to try at home!

Of course this isnโ€™t safe for everyone to try and if you experience any pain with these movements or a pinching feeling in your hips, you should stop!

HAMSTRING PULL?๐Ÿ’ฅ

Sometimes when you โ€œpullโ€ or โ€œtweakโ€ a muscle, trying to over stretch it might not be what it needs in the acute stages.

Instead of totally resting it, one thing you can do to help guide the rehabilitation process is light isometrics โ€ผ๏ธ

1. Place your foot on a low item
2. Lean in until you feel a light stretch (but not pain)
3. Lightly drive your heel down as you isometrically contract your hamstring
4. Repeat daily until the pain and swelling start to subside

Tips for carpal tunnel๐Ÿ’ฅ

1. Make sure you are moving your wrist daily to maintain range of motion

2. Set a timer during your work day to give your wrist a break and stretch

3. Open up range of motion so that the wrist can freely move without putting pressure on the nerves that run through the wrist

4. Do your stretches before work, during your lunch break, and before bed

Shoulder friendly exercises ๐Ÿ’ฅ

Shoulder impingement is one of the most common shoulder injuries. It is exasperated (or caused) by doing overhead movements. Doing strict overhead movements requires a decent amount of range of motion in the shoulder capsule, and strength within that range of motion.

In order to prevent further pain and damage within the shoulder, itโ€™s important that you donโ€™t train through any pain..

These exercises are some examples of how you can continue to train shoulders without having to press straight overhead and cause impingement and pain!
