Honey Tree Nursery School A Place for Children to Blossom A place for children to blossom, the Honey Tree Nursery School first opened its doors in the fall of 1980.

Initially, the school occupied the main house and now it is located in the attached school facility. The Honey Tree name derived from the Winnie the Pooh stories. Pooh's childlike desire to succeed came from an honest and unguarded effort. This same quality is what we often see in young children and it is our hope that we will foster that desire in every child that enters our school. The Honey Tre

e curriculum and facility were designed to provide children with a learning environment that sparks the natural curiosity of preschool age children while nurturing a sense of security and safety. Doing so will further develop a child's natural desire to learn, have fun and develop early learning skills. The Honey Tree works to build strong learning habits by providing a nurturing environment and understanding each child's needs and learning style. Children are not pushed to read, write or perform tasks that they are not developmentally ready to do. We create learning experiences that spark each child's interests, while allowing them to practice and develop age appropriate skills. We abide by Jean Piaget's philosophy that "play is child's work" and strive to create an environment that allows children to develop through play and active learning. Current research tells us that play advances children's intellectual, social, emotional, physical and language development and is a natural setting for children to experiment with all senses to make new discoveries. The Honey Tree is a place where children can be free to express themselves, engage in new experiences, make friendships, and develop a sense of belonging in a nurturing group environment. We offer opportunities for growth in social, emotional, physical and intellectual development by providing a nurturing, developmental, child friendly, environment.

The Honey Tree is taking registration for next year if you’d like to come down and see the school give a call 508-823-5611. We enroll children three, four, and five-year- olds. We ready children for the next level of education including kindergarten through the means of social skill building and play activities with age appropriate curriculum. 39 years experience of fun filled learning.

Honey Tree is on clean up duty. Rugs washed, floors polished, wall decorations going up. New lessons being made and toys ready for the shelves. We look forward to our Open House and Orientation August 30 at 9:30. A fun day to meet the teachers and other students. Please let me know if you are unable to make this date.
