Yesterday was one of our favorite annual events, our Grandparent's Day breakfast with Chris Cake & Co. Yummy pancakes and a special day with our grandparents or special friends! Here are a few shots of our morning. Please feel free to share some of your special photos with us as well!

Last Thursday we started what may become a new tradtion. The idea was brought to us by PTA....Since we end our year with a celebratory walk by our 5th graders....it was suggested to start our year with a quieter, welcome walk by our Kindergartners. Here are some photos of the walk.

We enjoyed seeing all of our kiddos last night at Meet the Teacher night! This morning our Kindergartners are here getting introduced to Timber Creek Elementary without any other "big kid" bodies here. Those that attended last night saw that we had many new faces among us. We would like to introduce those new to our Timber Creek hallways. In Kindergarten we have Mrs.. Hardee and Mrs. Kjennas (think tennis with a ch). In 1st grade we have Ms. Akzam (like exam with an A). In 4th grade we have Ms. Willis. Finally in specials we have Coach Huggins in PE, and Ms. Goodwin in music....Mrs. Carr moved to 3rd grade this year. Not pictured are Ms. Hopkins in Special Ed, and Mrs. Barnes will be our new Process Coordinator! We are excited to welcome them all!

New teachers to our district started training on Wednesday. We are welcomeing 7 new teachers to Timber Creek. One thing we are really excited about is 2 of our new staff members are Timber Creek alumni. Meet Zoe Goodwin (Music) and Foster Huggins (PE)! A 3rd alumni (Makenzie Holbrook) is also joining the Ray-Pec family teaching 2nd grade at Bridle Ridge.

Yesterday we celebrated Ms. Wallace (3rd grade) and Mrs. Dustman (OT)' retirement. We are sad to see them leave, but wish them well on their next adventures. Fun fact, Mrs. Wallace was one of the "founding" staff members of Timber Creek. She started her career prior to Timber Creek opening at Shull Elementary. In her 20 years in the district, Ms. Wallace has taught Kindergarten, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and 4th grade. Best wishes!

Door Decorating SUNDAY May 7th - 1-5pm We are gearing up for Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week! We will be decorating the doors on Sunday May 7th 1-5pm. You can come anytime during that timeframe. You must leave a cut-out for the window, so please keep that in mind when creating your design. The doors are 35.5"x 83". The window is 7"x28".....

Today our 3rd graders got to culminate their weather unit with a visit from Neville Miller KMBC. I know we all learned some new things, and the students were able to share some of their knowledge they had learned.

We are starting our 2nd Annual All School Read. This year's book is Flat Stanley’s Worldwide Adventures: The Mount Rushmore Calamity. Each student received a book. With Field Day quickly approaching (Friday, May 19), we are in the process of selling our Field Day T-shirts. These shirts can be purchased for anyone in the family! Parents, we know you have told your kiddos this a time or two! Here is the link to our order form (the QR code will also lead you to the order form as well! The final day to order will be Thursday, April 27th. This is a hard deadline as it is extended to the last moment we can order!

Just a reminder, we are wrapping up our time for you to share your fun photos for the yearbook. (Deadline April 10) I know many took pictures at the classroom parties last week!

We are looking for pictures of events that happened from last spring until now! Luckily we have been able to participate in more school wide activities in the past year! Enjoy your break, Jaguars! As a reminder students are out of school from now until April 11th. Staff will be out of the building April 3-7 for Spring Break and will return, Monday, April 10th for a Professional Development day. As a reminder, election day is Tuesday, April 4th.

Since the pandemic, we have been able to feed all students in Raymore-Peculiar School District's breakfast and lunch at no cost through USDA waivers. The USDA has not continued the waivers to feed all students breakfast and lunch for free during the '22-'23 School Year, so we ask that all families be on the lookout for benefit applications coming soon for the upcoming school year.
Meals will continue to be free for students through the rest of this regular school year. We will return to regular pricing for summer school 2022. Thank you for your continued support!

A huge thank you to our PTA and to all of the families that made Teacher Appreciation week so special for the staff at Timber Creek. It was an amazing week!

Happy nurses week to Mrs Bogner. We are so lucky she is with us at Timber Creek!

Congratulations to Sarah Walton Newkirk, Lisa Crane Coldiron, Karen Smith on your retirement! We wish you all the best -You will be missed!
