Southland Conservatory opened its doors in July of 2000 with 5 teachers and 70 students. Since its inception, Southland Conservatory has grown to 12 studios over 25 educators, and at peak enrollment 400 students. Currently Southland Conservatory teaches students ranging in age from 5 years old to adult students into their 70's. Priding itself as innovators of supplemental music education, Southlan

d Conservatory cultivates close relationships with K-12 school educators to ensure our students success, and the success of those K-12 programs. Realizing the need for a stress free educational experience, Southland Conservatory meets the students at their level, and sets a path for their success. Through optional recitals, church performances, and civic functions, students can choose how to share their gifts. Southland Conservatory also prides itself in being the first, if not only, area studio that arranges for its voice students to participate a bi-annual recording project that features Southland Conservatory students. Southland Conservatory students have been awarded music scholarships to many schools of higher education including; University of Missouri, UMKC’s Conservatory of Music, Truman State, Northwest Missouri State, Belmont University, and Middle Tennessee State just to name a few. We are proud of our alumni as they become some of the areas best educators, and performers. Southland Conservatory is proud of the impact that its students and alumni have on the Kansas City area as educators and performers, and hopes to include you as one of its students

A few weeks ago, Emily Kilpatrick performed with the Belton High School Jazz Band at the Historic GEM Theater at 18th and Vine. Emily was awarded "Best Musician" for the day for her vocal solo and bass playing. She is singing in Portuguese, and the tune is So Danço Samba. ENJOY!

We are really proud to have been serving this community for over 25 years. But being a small part of seeing the funding come together for this amazing all-inclusive park has got to be one of the coolest things we have done. Love hearing the kids play on the chimes. Raymore Parks and Recreation
