You might notice we have a new name - Rooted Homeschool Co-Operative! The following two passages from Ephesians and Colossians are foundational scriptures that capture our heart for our students and are the reason for our new name:

Ephesians 3:17-18 (TLB)
And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts, living within you as you trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love; and may you be able to feel and understand, as all God’s children should, how long, how wide, how deep, and how high his love really is; and to experience this love for yourselves, though it is so great that you will never see the end of it or fully know or understand it. And so at last you will be filled up with God himself.

Colossians 2:7 (NLT)
Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.

------------

Roots are the most fundamental element for any plant's growth, health, stability, strength and endurance. And during our kids' years under our care, the biggest thing we, as parents, are usually focused on is the things that are growing in their hearts and minds. These will become their "roots" and these will shape their perspective and their actions as they mature. We pray that our students are rooted. Rooted in God’s love, rooted in truth, rooted in who he has made them to be. May the name “Rooted” be a prayer and a declaration over our kids!

🎓 Who are we?
Raymore Homeschool Enrichment Co-op is an independent ministry supported by Pathway Church of Raymore and exists to supplement home education with an organized core-enrichment program that facilitates physical, mental, social, and spiritual growth. We seek to create a welcoming environment where collaborative, classroom-style learning and resource sharing take place.

🎓 When do we meet?
RHEC meets on Tuesdays from 9am - 2:30pm during the school calendar year. This year, we have an optional half-day option for high school students.

🎓 How much is tuition?
Full Year Tuition for Each Student: $545/year.
There is a $25 discount included for full payment.

Optional: High School option ONLY - Half Day High School Student: $300/year. This amount covers additional supplies needed for advanced science classes.

Teaching or helping in a class can dramatically offset the cost of tuition! Please indicate on the Registration Form if you are interested in these roles.

🎓 Is there a service requirement for parents?
RHEC is a cooperative in the fullest sense, relying on the service of every enrolled family to uphold the program and provide relevant, engaging learning experiences. To keep our program strong, we ask that each family fulfill ONE volunteer duty. These can vary from helping once a year to volunteering weekly! Please let us know your preferences for volunteering on the Registration Form when you register your student. If you have a family situation that makes volunteering difficult, please reach out and let us know. We will be happy to work with you to find a solution that fits your family.

🎓 I have more questions, where can I go?
You will be able to find many answers to your questions on our Policies and Procedures document at our public page: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100066743685147 . You can also email us at [email protected].

Here is what we are doing this year (2023/24) in co-op! We are super excited about the lineup! 😍🎉

Raymore Homeschool Enrichment Co-op 2023-2024 A new option is now available for homeschooling families (new and veteran) looking for hands-on, strong supplemental learning for core subjects. (With drop-off option!) Our mission is to assist parents with the messy stuff that often gets pushed asid...

Raymore Homeschool Enrichment Co-op 2022-2023 Registration is now open! (Links at bottom of this post.)

SCIENCE: We will going through Earth Science using Jay Wile’s Discovering Design with Earth Science as our primary textbook! This is going to be an incredibly fun class, and will be taught at all age levels (alternate texts will be provided for our youngest two classes.) We will get to cover subjects like weather, geology, soil composition, and space!

HISTORY: We will continue moving through Veritas Press’s History scope and sequence, beginning where we left off this year with post-Civil War America and progressing all the way through both World Wars, Inventors and immigation, the Great Depression, the Cold War, and modern America. As always, there will be an accompanying literature list, and I’m SO excited about the books for next year! (List coming soon!)

ENGLISH, MATH, MUSIC, and ART: Next year, we will be giving priority to our English skills class over math skills. (Students will still have a 15-minute math, logic, or STEM challenge each co-op day, but the full class time will be devoted to English, which is a reverse of the focus we had this year.) In this English class, we will focus on writing— from reinforcing phonics and learning the parts of a sentence in early elementary, paragraph writing in elementary, short essay formation in middle school, to current event writing in junior high. All ages will also have creative writing challenges throughout the year! And here’s the big news: as a foundation for our writing challenges, we will be studying world geography! This study will intersect with our history, music, and art programs. We so look forward to touring the world with you as an overarching theme for the co-op next year!
One big need we have for the upcoming year is for teachers and helpers, especially in our youngest two age groups. (These are paid positions, and can offset tuition.) If any of you have availability, even for a class or two, please contact me asap. This is something I’d like to get lined up soon, as it is critical to the success of next year’s co-op. Thank you for considering joining us in this important work!
As always, please contact me with any questions, and feel free to send interested teachers or families my direction! Thank you all
