I am going to put this how the committee wrote the letter! An "All School Reunion" for the Raymond "Hornets" is being planned for Saturday, August 24, 2013 with the social hour at 5:30 and the dinner at 6:30. This banquet is for those who attended the Raymond School as a "Hornet" before it merged with MACCRAY. We will be meeting at the Kandi Entertainment Center in Willmar. The cost of the reunion, which is a 2 meat buffet, is $20.00. We will need your confirmation and check by July 1st. Your check should be written to "Raymond Alumni Association" and sent to: Raymond Alumni Association, C/O Lynette Hauser, 1104 Pleasant View Dr. SE, Willmar, Mn 56201 This year Raymond is celebrating their 125th Anniversary and the reunion is part of that celebration and the annual Harvest Festival. Here is a tentative schedule of events going on that weekend:
1) Museum of Raymond Artifacts
2) Golf Scramble- we are planning a 9 hole golf scramble at the Hawk Creek Golf Course in Raymond at 9:00 AM on Saturday the 24th Please indicate on your return if you are interested.This is open to alumni, their family and friends. 3)All School Reunion Banquet
4)Raymond Community Band- pull out your musical instruments and limber up your lips! Historically a community band was an integral part of the Raymond community. We had a band to celebrate Raymond's centennial and would like to have one for their 125th anniversary. Write, e-mail, or call Susan Honken at 12440 105th Ave. SW, Raymond, MN 56282, [email protected], or (320)967-4590 if you are interested in joining the band for a parade and possibly a concert in the park. No marching necessary!
5) Raymond Gallery of Art- we are hoping to create a gallery in the school to display some "local" or "formally local" talent. Ideas are photography, painting, drawing, quilting, woodworking, & poetry. Talented alumni and community members wishing to participate can contact Susan Honken on this also!
