Our websites have been updated with this year's registration information for LEAP. Please read these webpages carefully. We will do everything we can to avoid a waitlist in regards to space and staffing once we have a good idea of how many kids are in each group and what our demand is. Thank you for your patience through this unique (and hopefully one time only) opening process. Links to each after school program page in the comments. Reminder that the before school program is not part of LEAP and will not be posted on this page.

Registration for LEAP opens next Tuesday, 8/18! We will be operating under the same requirements as the school day as far as masks and social distancing goes. Our rates for the time being will half of what they normally are because students will only be allowed to attend on days that they are scheduled to be in the building. I will update our website with the new registration materials by Thursday at the latest, and post here when they are up. Please do not print or use our usual materials. If you have any questions, you can email me at [email protected]. I will be in all day meetings tomorrow and Wednesday, and then out biking with some middle schoolers on Thursday at least in the morning 😁 so I will respond to emails whenever I get the chance.

An update on 2020-2021 LEAP:

If students are at school for in-person learning (no decisions have been made final yet) LEAP will operate at reduced hours with both programs ending at 5:00 so custodians have the time they need for the required disinfecting of the buildings each night. My hope is that my next update will be that registration is open but first we need to know how this school year will start for students and then make sure our fees are adjusted for the services we will be able to provide. I hope that by at least letting you know the hours you will be able to make some plans now if this does not align with your needs. I will continue to keep you updated as more details are finalized.

While this is typically when we would start registration for the upcoming school year, we are holding off until at least next week. Because of the Governor's recommendations, we are now having the conversations with all of the information we've been waiting for about the best ways to get students back in school and out-of-school-time programs like LEAP are very much included in that. I hope to have an update for you sometime next week.

LEAP is hosting an online "Lunch Room" this summer! We are online everyday for all LRES students to join us for activities and reconnecting with friends. We will be available remotely Monday-Friday, 12-1, until August 14th. If your child was not a member of LEAP during the 2019-2020 school year, just email me at [email protected] if you would like access. We would also love to hear from parents that are interested in us offering specific academic-focused fun to help stave off the summer slide. We're open to anything and hope to hear from you!

LEAP is open to all LRES and IHGMS students for academic support! We have certified teachers available from 3:00-5:00 for IHGMS and 3:30-5:30 for LRES. If you have a student that can use some extra help and would like to explore this option, you can email me at [email protected] Just give me a quick description of what you are looking for assistance in and we will set something up!

Tomorrow, 3/7/2020 at 10:00AM, we will be launching Estes Rockets that were assembled by one of our LRES STEAM groups out back at the middle school. Come down and enjoy the show!
