Our natural resources class took a field trip today down the road to Country Road Animal Sanctuary where we spent the day practicing our forest inventory and tree identification skills. CRAS has provided our class loggers tapes, compasses, and clinometers that help our students build skills and help us learn forest inventory skills used in the workforce. We had a great day, and ended with some time seeing the animals at the sanctuary! We had so much fun and look forward to collaborating more in the future!

Our high school woodshop class has a few things to sell. We have a few cedar planters, measure approximately 12x25. We also built a cedar well planter, the planter bottom is approximately 25x25, and the structure reaches over 5 ft tall. The planters will be $20/each. The well house is $150. Our natural resource class took a quick field trip today to Forks Creek fish hatchery. This was a great opportunity to see first hand salmon, and understand the rearing process and the science involved in a hatchery.

We are excited to be hosting an Easter Bingo fundraiser to help raise funds for our new FFA chapter. Funds will be used for chapter activities and competitions.

Things are looking official! Raymond has officially chartered an FFA chapter, and we are excited to start our agriculture leadership journey for our students! We sure like those corduroy jackets!

The Natural Resource and Ecology class took a trip to a tree farm today. While in our forestry unit, we have learned tree types, inventory data, and various other forestry components. With the help of Rex Hutchins on his tree farm, we got to put our knowledge to work, learning to plot and inventory a forest stand to consider timber stand health. Rex showed students how to use a clinometer, as well as other forestry tools, and the students were able to explore and see many tree types and various tree stands. Thank you to Raymond Schools Foundation for the opportunity to have this field trip, and thank you to Rex Hutchins for opening up your tree farm for our students to learn hands-on skills in a potential career pathway!

The natural resource and ecology class is in the soils and land unit. Today, we made soil horizons "dirt" cups.

Our shop students are working through getting familiar with various tools and enjoying it! We are looking forward to starting some projects in our near future!
