Last week, year 6 completed a design and technology project. They had to make a automata toy which could be placed in a shop window to attract customers. This involved using expanded diagrams, measuring, woodwork, mechanisms, and lots of teamwork. All groups cooperated really well, preserved and produced fabulous all working automata toys. Here are the fabulous, completed automata toys. What an incredible job achieved by all groups. A proud teacher!

In art this morning, year 6 have been planning their relief sculptures based on a memory, inspired by the artist Louise Nevelson. Children have considered how to manipulate materials, how to arrange and assemble their composition and played around with juxtaposition. Look out for year 6s final compositions next Thursday.

🌟 Year 1 have been very creative this week while practising their phonics skills! 🌟
We have been busy hunting outside for real and alien words, reading words written on bananas 🍌, and even playing musical statues with a phonics twist — when the music stopped, we had to write a word!
The children have shown fantastic enthusiasm and determination while developing their reading and writing skills. Well done, Year 1! ⭐📚
