Muskegon County will offer hearing and Vision screenings by appointment for students in preschool through 9th grade on August 18 and 25, 2026. There is no cost to families. Please have parents call Public Health Muskegon County at (231) 724-1394.

FREE BACKPACKS AND SUPPLIES! Ravenna Public Schools recently picked up 50 backpacks from the Muskegon Area Intermediate School District. These backpacks contain crayons, folders, a notebook, pencils, a pencil sharpener and a book! These backpacks are geared toward students in grades K-6. If you are in need of a backpack and supplies, you may pick them up at the Ravenna Public Schools Administration Building 12322 Stafford Street, Monday - Thursday, 8am - 3pm, beginning August 17, or you may email your child's building to request a backpack be available once school begins. While supplies last! Thank you Storehouse of Community Resources for the Big Backpack Build!

Thanks to their incredible Big Backpack Build today, 800 fully-loaded backpacks are officially on their way back to Muskegon for our Muskegon County students! Thanks Storehouse of Community Resources
