The Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Central School District (RCS) encompasses Coeymans and parts of the towns of Bethlehem, New Scotland and the Greene County town of New Baltimore. The district serves approximately 2,100 students in grades Pre-K through 12 at its four schools—A.W. Coeymans Elementary, RCS Middle School and RCS High School. With championship athletes, talented musicians and academic scholars, RCS students excel on and off the field. The entire RCS school community is proud of the work it does together to continue “Building Tomorrow’s Leaders Today.”

As our fall teams wrap up their seasons and head into sectionals, we’re excited to announce that registration for the 2026–27 Winter Sports season is now open for JV and Varsity teams! Registration for Modified sports will open on Friday, October 23, 2026.

Whether you’re a returning athlete ⛹️ or looking to try something new this season 🤼, RCS has a great lineup of winter sports to choose from!

This week is School Board Recognition Week, a time to celebrate the members of the RCS School District Board of Education and the role they play in shaping our students’ educational experiences. Our board works to ensure that every student has access to meaningful, engaging learning opportunities that connect the classroom to the real world.

We would like to shout out our Varsity Cross Country team! The team had an amazing showing at the Maple Hill Kiwanis Glover Invitational on Friday, October 9th, earning 4th place overall out of 18 teams! 💚💛

Varsity Girls Individual Highlights: 🥈 Piper W. — 2nd Place, Melody M. — 12th Place, Teagan P. — 19th Place. All three runners finished in the Top 25!

JV Girls Highlight: 🏆 Kaitlyn G. took 1st Place Overall in the JV Girls race!

We are so proud of all our runners for a terrific season! 🐦‍⬛

This morning, A.W. Becker Elementary held a parade to kick off the year of positive behavior and school pride! Each grade created signs and messages highlighting the ways they will be the best Becker students they can be this school year.

Pieter B. Coeymans Elementary also held assemblies this week, focusing on what it means to be a successful student and setting a positive tone for the school year ahead!

Across our buildings, we use PBIS to foster a sense of community, pride, and belonging while setting the tone for a positive school culture.

✨ The Homecoming Dance ✨ was a night to remember, with our Golden Hour theme setting the perfect tone for the evening. Students danced the night away, celebrated with friends, and made memories to remember. 🪩

On this beautiful fall day, our fourth-grade students from Pieter B. Coeymans Elementary headed to the riverbank for a day of hands-on science as they took part in “A Day in the Life of the Hudson River.”

Students worked together to collect real-time data about the river as part of a greater effort, in partnership with the Department of Environmental Conservation and the New York State Water Resources Institute, to capture a snapshot of the Hudson River from New York City to Troy on this day.

The sun came out today for the annual Pieter B. Coeymans Elementary Apple Run! Students, staff, and families came together for a morning of movement, smiles, and plenty of cheering as our students hit the course. 🍎🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Reminder: Our annual Emergency Release Dismissal Drill is this Friday, October 2. Students will be dismissed about 15 minutes earlier than usual. The State Education Department requires all schools to conduct this test each year.

🏠 Please make sure someone is home to meet elementary students when they get off the bus.
