I have tons of fresh eggs!! Duck and Chicken! Egg prices are going up at the grocery store. I have them for $3 a dozen for chicken and $4 for duck. Farm fresh and free range. I work at Wyrick lumber in Hugo. I am there every week day and Saturday morning. Come get your fresh eggs at a reasonable price. I can deliver in Hugo city limits during lunch if 2 dozen or more eggs are ordered.

New arrivals to the farm! All 3 were bottle babies and they are super friendly (just watch your shoe laces). They're gonna be our groundskeepers helping keep the brush from taking over the property.

The best part is these w**d eaters don't require string! 😄

We are now up to 7 rabbits, 10 chickens, 3 goats, 4 dogs, 2 cats and probably 60,000 bees 🤠

Welp trial and error can really stink sometimes. We had a bad storm come through last night and temps dropped. Our poor girl couldn't keep the babies warm and we lost all but one baby rabbit. The last one is weak. We tried to get it to latch this morning and get a drink but I do not feel hopeful this one is going to make it either.

What did this teach me....
1) pay closer attention to the weather. This should be a no brainer but you don't know what an animal can tolerate until you have seen it first hand sometimes.

2) I palpitated this rabbit the day before she gave birth. I now know what a rabbit that is about to give birth stomach feels like and know the next litter will not be a surprise.

3) Nothing can replace a proper nest box or the nest the mom naturally makes. Rabbits pull their fur and make a warm cozy home for the babies. Since we did not know about this litter we did not provide her with a nest box so that she could make a proper home for her babies. This will be provided for her next litter.

4) Some rabbits don't make good moms and will reject their babies if you give them any reason and some for no reason. We could have a momma that just isn't a great mom on our hands.

While we are very disappointed that our very first litter turned out this way I am not ready to give up. This rabbit has a high probability of giving another litter in two weeks since we bred her when she was pregnant (unknowingly). She will get another chance to be a momma and we will see how it goes.

For now we will keep learning and improving.

🥳 Well, we had a bit of a surprise this morning. Our REW NZ (Ruby Eyed White New Zealand) Lucy had a litter 2 weeks before her due date which leads us to believe she was already pregnant when we got her 😳 this means she might have another litter before she is done nursing this litter.

The plus side of this surprise is that this litter was not sired by our buck Zephod so we can potentially breed him to a doe from this litter for a 3rd generation REW NZ.

This is gonna get interesting 🐇 🤠

I have these 4 very pretty birds. No idea what kind of chickens they are and unsure of the s*x. I think 2 of them are roosters and 1 hen. The white one is your best guess. Finally received our 3 beehives and got them all set up 🐝 we only have 1 suit so Mica got to enjoy the fun part while I was observing from a far 😅.

2 hives are strong and 1 we are worried may not be viable. Time will tell 🤷‍♂️

Fun fact: Do you know the difference between Italian bees and American bees?

Italian bees are yellow with black stripes and USBs are thumb drives
