Forging a wizard head part 2: With the taper forged in its time to go to the vice! Using a backing block make sure the steel is well supported. Grab a soft/striking hammer and a square faced hand tool to forge in the eye sockets and cheeks. Once those are in use the edge of the square to form the bottom of the nose. Watch your symmetry and use single hammer strikes to ensure good placement. Hammer it like a nail and the tool will move out of position.
Last- use a center punch to put in the nostrils and center dot in the hat. Now we’re ready for the next heat!
