Today's the day!
The kick off to this season's challenge, Unearthed, is at noon today and we're ready to get started.....kind of!
We took early applications in May, as the school year was winding down, so we could possibly start when the season started in August. As always, we had more students apply than we have room on the team, so we are currently looking for adult volunteer coaches for a 2nd team to allow more opportunity for our students. We have everything you need already, so if you are interested in helping, we would really appreciate it.
For more information or if you have questions, please pm us or you can contact Mrs. Meyer at [email protected]

Great time was had by all! Have a wonderful 4th of July!

Hello Everyone!

Shout out to Rachel Branstrom from the The Daily Press, Escanaba, MI, who came out to visit us last Monday to see how First Lego League fits into the grand picture of robotics and all about this year's theme, Submerged.
Thank you for such a great article and promoting robotics for all ages!
As mentioned in the article, we are still in need of another coach for more kiddos. If you or someone you know can help, please let us know.
Thanks to those who have shared our last post or reached out already. We truly appreciate your support!

Hello to our supportive community!

Our Rapid River Robotics team has received so much community support from all of you and we are hoping someone will step up once again.

At our interest meeting for this year's team, we received over 20 applications for students who wanted to join robotics. First Lego League has a cap of 10 students per team. So, that means we have over 10 students that will not have a spot on a team for this coming season unless we have a couple of willing participants to help coach.
We have all the necessary equipment, funds are available, students are ready and time is open in the robotics/STEM room, but we just need more help.

If you or someone you know would be interested in helping coach a second team this season, please let us know and we'll get you all the information. We really don't want students to go without a spot on a team when they really want to join.

Thanks and feel free to share this out.

Opps! One more thing…

I was kindly reminded that I didn’t post how we actually did at the WPI Invitational in Massachusetts. My bad and I do apologize!

Here are those final results out of the 108 teams at the competition:

Robot Performance High Score and Rank: 290, 95th
Robot Design- 26th
Innovation Project- 16th
Core Values- 22nd

Champions Rank: 42nd

We went in with the mindset to try our best, represent our school, the UP and our state proud.
Coming out ranking in the top half and 3 scores ranking in the top 25% was the sprinkles on top of our sweet season.
