RC Christian's own Tate Broberg has made the final round of the 13th annual Rising Star of the West Scholarship Contest begins Monday April 29th on The SIX and on Black Hills FOX News at Nine. This year’s contest, sponsored by KEVN Black Hills FOX and Black Hills Energy, offers a total of $7,500 in scholarship money.

After viewing their commentaries on Black Hills FOX News, viewers are invited to view them online at www.blackhillsfox.com and rate each one. Those viewer ratings and the ratings of a Black Hills FOX panel will determine this year’s winners. This year’s first place winner will take home a $4,000 college scholarship from Black Hills FOX and Black Hills Energy. Second place receives a $2,000 scholarship, with $1,000 for third and $500 for fourth. The winner will be announced on May 28th.

RAPID CITY CHRISTIAN JUNIOR IS FIRST RISING STAR OF THE WEST FINALIST

Rapid City Christian High School junior Tate Broberg is the first finalist in KEVN Black Hills FOX’s Rising Star of the West scholarship contest. Broberg competed with four other outstanding Black Hills high school students the week of March 18th on The SIX and on Black Hills FOX News at 9.

Broberg’s commentary on youth involvement in the community was rated the best of the week by both viewers on www.blackhillsfox.com and a Black Hills FOX panel of judges.

He will now be back on the air in April and May, competing with the other three finalists for a total of $7,500 in scholarship money from Black Hills FOX and Black Hills Energy. The winner will receive a $4,000 scholarship.

Shout out to all former Rapid City Christian football players. Tomorrow night ( sep 22) is 2017 homecoming vs Hill City at 7 p.m. and all former players are invited to be down on the sidelines for the pregame and 1st quarter. We would love to the show all the alumni how far we've come and the legacy we have left, as well as show the current and upcoming middle schoolers what they have to look forward too. If you can make it, we would love to see you there.
