Good morning Jackrabbits!🐰

Reminder that we are having our last SNA meeting of the semester today at noon, in room 115! During this meeting we will be having elections for three positions:

*2nd Vice President -- "trains" to become vice president and eventually president when our current one graduates, coordinates meetings and the big projects that the president organizes are the career fair and the welcome event for the incoming first semester students

*Social Media Coordinator -- posts on social media about meetings and upcoming events and makes flyers to hang on the SNA board

*Community Chair Member -- coordinates and organizes blood drives (2 per year)

SNA membership has many benefits. It looks great on your resume (you can also become part of the National Student Nurses' Association and participate on a national level if you desire) and it's a great way to connect with your fellow nursing students!

Please join us at the meeting today if you are interested in any of these positions! If you have any other questions, feel free to send us a message or reach out to any of us in person.

Hi Everyone!

Tomorrow there is a volunteer opportunity at Club for Boys for their Halloween Party!

Please arrive at 5:00 for volunteer orientation, you will be done by 8:30.

You will be able to wear a kid friendly costume, if you would like, but no masks.

Please park at the senior center or civic center overflow lots.

Update from our successful Blood Drive yesterday:

22 people donated 25 units of blood! (goal was 21 units)

Thank you everyone who donated or attempted to donate! You are all so appreciated!

Also, a huge shout-out and thank you to Roger, who sets up the lab before blood drives by moving the beds, tables, and chairs out of the room (it’s a lot of work!) and thanks to these two ladies, Goodness and Jana, for sticking around to help move all the furniture back into the room after the drive was over.

Goodness even ended up being the winner of our drawing for an SDSU lunchbox!

Please consider donating at our blood drive next week! This drive is open to anyone (not just nursing students), so feel free to share this with whoever you like.

There will be free pizza 🍕 and refreshments provided!

For anyone that hasn't donated before, the whole process can take around an hour. However, the actual donation time is usually only about 10 minutes! This small portion of your day has the ability to vastly impact the life of someone in need.

Join us at the career fair today!

When: 9:00 am to 2:00 pm
Where: Room 111 in the Health Science Building

This is a great opportunity for nursing students in any semester! Representatives from Regional Health, Sanford, Avera, and many other healthcare facilities are available to give you information and answer any questions you may have.

He uses his own money to provide us with coffee and feed our caffeine addictions, the least we can do is help pay a little bit back!

A little update from the Blood Drive yesterday:

17 people scheduled
21 people signed into the drive
18 people were able to donate 21 units of blood

Our goal was 20 units, so we truly could not have met our goal without each and every one of you!

The crew from Vitalant (formerly United Blood Services) is set up in the basement of the HSB. Check-in Room 21 :) We will have Marco's pizza and beverages as well.
