EASIE (Education for American, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian Students) funding supports programs and services designed to meet the unique academic and culturally related needs of American Indian and Alaska Native students in Rapid City Area Schools. As part of this work, the Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) partners with families, schools, and the community to help ensure Native students have the support needed to meet high academic standards and succeed in school.

The PAC promotes awareness of district resources and services within the American Indian community, encourages parent and family participation in district programs, and works alongside the district to support achievement for all students.

In accordance with Title VI regulations, we are currently seeking a parent or guardian who has completed a 506 form to serve as a member of the Parent Advisory Committee and help guide these important efforts.

PAC Election Announcement
The Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) vacancies for the 2026–2027 school year included three Parent Representative positions and one Teacher/Counselor Representative position. The Office of Indian Education received three Letters of Interest for the Parent Representative vacancies and one Letter of Interest for the Teacher/Counselor Representative vacancy.
Because all positions were unopposed, the PAC election previously scheduled for May 13, 2026, at Central has been canceled. We appreciate the willingness of our representatives to serve and support the PAC and the Office of Indian Education.
