Hey Friends. I have people talk to me all the time about their back pain, sciatica, hip and knee paid, etc.
I think we often forget that our body is a whole and complete system.
Everything is designed to work together.
This week, in the Aligned and Attuned FB group we are exploring the Yang side of the Body referred to as the Posterior Chain.

🌿 The Missing Piece in Your Movement
Most people focus on the front of their body…
abs, quads, chest.
But some of the most important muscles live on the backside of the body—your:
✨ glutes
✨ hamstrings
✨ back muscles
This group is called your posterior chain, and it plays a huge role in how you move, feel, and function every day.
Here’s the problem…
We sit more than ever.
And over time, these muscles can start to:
• “turn off”
• become weak
• lose connection
Which can lead to:
⚡ low back discomfort
⚡ tight hips
⚡ poor posture
⚡ reduced strength and stability
The good news?
These muscles can be reawakened.
And when they are…
🔥 posture improves
🔥 movement feels stronger and easier
🔥 the body feels more supported
🌿 This week, we’re exploring how to gently reconnect with the posterior chain through simple movement, awareness, and Qigong-inspired practices.

The Spiral Body
Moving as One Whole System
This week we explored the power of rotation in the body:
🌱 the waist as the engine of movement
🌱 the spine creating space and freedom
🌱 the organs awakening from within
🌱 the spiral nature of energy and flow
And now we bring it all together.
🌿 The Body Was Designed to Move as One
The body is not meant to move in isolated parts.
It is designed to move as a connected, flowing system.
When movement begins in the center and spirals outward:
• the spine moves more freely
• the joints feel less strain
• the breath deepens naturally
• energy flows with greater ease
This is what Qigong teaches us to remember:
the body works best when it moves as one.
🌿 The Spiral Body
Instead of thinking in straight lines, imagine your body moving in soft spirals.
Movement begins at the center…
and gently expands outward through the whole body.
This creates a feeling of:
🌿 connection
🌿 fluidity
🌿 ease
🌿 lightness
🌬 Try This: The Spiral Flow
Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart.
Let your arms relax.
Begin gently rotating your torso.
Now allow the movement to become circular and flowing:
👉 the waist initiates
👉 the spine follows
👉 the shoulders soften
👉 the arms move freely
Let it feel like a wave or spiral traveling through your body.
Continue for 1 minute.
🌸 Reflection
Pause and notice:
Do you feel more connected or fluid than before?
Sometimes the body simply needs to be reminded how to move as a whole.

You don’t need complicated movements to feel better in your body.
Simple, gentle, connected movement can restore:
🌱 balance

🌿 Spring Rising: What Your Posture Says About Your Energy
Have you ever noticed how your body changes with the seasons?
In the wisdom of Chinese medicine, Spring is governed by the Wood Element—the energy of growth, flexibility, and upward movement. Just like trees reaching toward the sun, our bodies are naturally meant to lengthen, stretch, and rise during this season.
When Wood energy flows freely, we often notice:
🌱 better posture
🌱 more flexible hips and spine
🌱 deeper breathing
🌱 smoother movement through the body
But when this energy becomes stagnant, we may feel:
• tight hips and lower back
• rounded shoulders
• stiffness in the neck
• shallow breathing
One fascinating muscle connected to posture and emotional tension is the psoas, sometimes called the muscle of the soul. When it tightens from stress or sitting too much, it can pull the body forward and compress the breath.
The good news?
Gentle movement, stretching, breath, and Qigong can help release this tension and restore the body’s natural alignment.
This week we’ll be exploring how to:

✨ release tension in the hips and spine

💚 Gratitude Breath — A Gentle Pause for the Soul 💚
When was the last time you truly felt your breath…
not just moving in and out,
but nourishing your body, heart, and nervous system?
So much of life pulls us outward.
Gratitude invites us back in.
✨ Try this simple Gratitude Breath:
Place one hand on your heart.
Place one hand on your belly.
Inhale slowly through your nose.
Exhale gently through your mouth.
With each inhale, silently say:
“I receive.”
With each exhale, whisper:
“I give thanks.”
Just five slow breaths can soften the body and remind you that you are supported—right here, right now.
Gratitude isn’t something we force.
It’s something we allow to rise when the body feels safe and present.

As winter begins to fade and the energy of spring rises, many find themselves caught between the downward energy of the Water Element and the rising Upward energy of the Wood Element.

The Water Element holds our deepest reserves—

💧 Pause
Place both feet on the floor. Let your body feel supported.
🌬️ Breathe
Inhale gently through the nose.
Exhale slowly… longer than you inhale.
Let the exhale soften you.
🌊 Release
As you breathe out, imagine tension draining downward—
like water returning to the earth.
🌀 Repeat for 3–5 breaths.
No fixing.
No forcing.
Just letting the body remember how to soften.
