Happy Victory Day! LiiLiiLiiLiiLiiLiiLii
Happy Victory Day! ✊🏽 Today, June 25th, marks the anniversary of the Battle of the Little Bighorn. Defending their land, way of life, and sovereignty, the Lakota, Northern Cheyenne, and Arapaho won a historic victory.
‼️HAPPY VICTORY DAY‼️
❤️🔥Today, marking the 150th Anniversary of The Battle of the Greasy Grass (Battle of Little Big Horn) when the Allied Nations, the Cheyenne, Arapaho, and Lakota, united to defeat Custer and 225 soldiers of the 7th cavalry of the US army on June 25, 1876.
The Allied Nations - were protecting and defending our Peoples, Lands and Way of Life from invaders, settlers, and colonizers!! People who didn’t want us to exist, yet 150 years later WE ARE STILL HERE✊🏽🌱
Today, we have new enemies. Our battlefields may not look the same, but our fight continues! We come from victorious People, and we will continue to be victorious in our fight to Protect our Ways of Life! We honor our Ancestors unwavering commitment to the protection on our People and Land, and today we are all reminded of our duty to continue the legacy our Ancestors have left behind. 🌱✨ ✊🏽🙏🏽❤️🔥
On this day, we remember the warriors who crushed Custer’s army—proof that colonial violence can and will be defeated. Their victory lives in every fight for sovereignty.🌱
We will not let our enemies create a false narrative of fear and hopelessness because we know the truth: they are not invincible. And we we carry the legacy of VICTORY.❤️🔥✊🏽🌱
📢To honor the 150 year anniversary, we are releasing a Special edition T-shirt! 👕
❤️🔥The piece depicts a Woman Warrior on horseback capturing a 7th cavalry flag, dragging it on the ground. She is half Cheyenne and half Oglala. Her knife sheath and moccasins are painted in Cheyenne Pink to honor the Cheyenne people. The moon in the background is 82% Waxing giggeous, the moon phase on the 25th of June in 1876. The dark side, the earths shadow, is counting coup on the flag as well, right under her moccasin.
On the back of the shirt is a quote “Our people have always resisted. We have always fought to protect our lifeways. That has always lived within us, and it still does to this day.”
