We are so happy to share that we have a new team member joining us this year! Mrs Luquis will be our new Assistant Principal working alongside Mrs Ramey. We are so excited to have her! Please be sure to say hello at our quickly approaching back to school night

At its July 16 meeting, the RCS Board of Education appointed two new assistant principals for the 2026–27 school year.

Please join us in congratulating Jessica Luquis, Assistant Principal at Eastlawn Elementary School, and welcoming Miniona Lungalang, Assistant Principal at JW Eater Junior High School.

We are excited for the experience, leadership, and commitment they will bring to our students, staff, and families!

At 5th grade promotion we got so busy celebrating with you all that we didn’t get any pictures! Please comment, message, or email any pictures you took to us so we can print them for our 5th grade bulletin board 🤳📸

✨Staff Appreciation Week stars TOMORROW✨

This year’s theme is “The Most Magical Staff on Earth” because our staff truly bring the magic to Eastlawn every single day! Since we can’t take a field trip to Disney World, we plan to bring that excitement to Eastlawn!

Your students have been working hard on decorations for this week and we have fun celebrations planned…BUT WE STILL NEED YOUR HELP! On Friday we sent home some “homework” for you and your student.

🖍️ coloring pages to complete for their teacher and another staff member at school who they want to show appreciation to
📋 a list of staff names/favorites to help guide you/them as you complete the pages (see photos!)

Students are also invited to bring a small treat for a staff member that they want to thank. All participation is optional but any gesture of appreciation goes a long way!

Any students who would like additional coloring pages please see Mrs McKenzie, Mrs Stratton, or Mrs Ramey for extra copies.

Friday night the Girls on the Run Team completed the Illinois Marathon 5k! They have been training for months and every single girl finished the race…one of the girls even placed 9th in her age group!

Shout out to all of their cheerleaders, running buddies, and families for supporting the girls! A special thank you to Coach Turk, Coach Truax, and Coach Belen for all of their time and effort to make this experience so special for everyone!
