You guys.. Yesterdays pop-up was really something special.. 🥹
Our community showed UP. 🙌🏻

AND on top of that— this workshop was a beautiful reminder of WHY we are developing this Folk School:

To reignite the type of spirit and wonder that encourages families to come learn how to do something together;
with just their own hands, and the will to create.

💙💚 New Member Spotlight: The Wharf Folk School & Event Center 💚💙

Please join us in welcoming The Wharf Folk School & Event Center to the International Falls Area Chamber of Commerce!

Located at 2065 Spruce Street in Ranier, The Wharf Folk School & Event Center is a newly formed grassroots nonprofit dedicated to celebrating the rich ecological, artistic, and cultural heritage of the Rainy Lake region through hands-on learning, creativity, and community connection.

This summer, they’re offering a variety of free and low-cost workshops every Saturday at 2:00 PM (weather permitting) at The Wharf, including:
🎨 Tie-Dye T-Shirts
🪁 Kite Making
🧦 Sock Puppets
🎨 Plein Air Painting
🧘 Yoga & Reflective Writing
🥗 Healthy Salad-Making
…and much more!

They’re also hosting fun and engaging children's workshops:
🎨 Mural Painting: August 10–14 | 9:00 AM–1:00 PM
🎭 Theatre Workshop: August 24–28 | 9:00 AM–1:00 PM

Looking ahead, The Wharf plans to offer classes in fine arts, folk arts, blacksmithing, tool making, boat building, history, natural sciences, outdoor living, and many other skills that celebrate our region while bringing people together.

☕ Be sure to stop by Tara's Wharf, too! Their Ice Cream Shop now serves breakfast, Coffee Landing coffee, lunch, and their delicious hard ice cream flavors. Open daily from 9:00 AM–9:00 PM, it's the perfect place to relax, enjoy great food, and take in the beautiful views of Rainy Lake.

The Wharf welcomes community involvement and collaboration, making it a wonderful addition to the Borderland.
